Pizza Republic — Restaurant in Hoboken

Lunch specials are awesome. 2 plain slices and a drink for $5.50 or 2 specialty slices and a drink for $7.50. The slices are a good size that will leave you satisfied / full. Just ask them to leave the slices in the oven a little extra if you like it crispy as it typically will be served hot but not crunchy unless you state otherwise.

The owner seems to take pride in what he cooks. He caught me taking a picture of the rice balls :) and he spoke about it in a way that showed he enjoys cooking and making things customers would like.

There are enough tables / seats here for a quick casual eating.

Side note: I have visited Benny Tudinos in the past for their huge slices which I like for their crunchy dough when heated up right, but I am not a fan of the server also being the cashier handling your pizza with his bare hands. That's why I am glad there is Pizza Republic which so far seems to be a more hygienic alternative. I'll keep on coming back as long as the lunch specials exist AND bare hands do not touch my pizza.

Pizza Republic sent me a moldy pizza. It was inedible. I followed up with delivery.com who processed the order. They called the restaurant, and the restaurant denied a refund. Delivery.com suggested I call the restaurant to speak with their manager to reverse their decision. I tried. The first time I called I was told "please hold". They left me on hold for several minutes, then hung up on me. I tried calling back and they never picked up, clearly dodging any calls from my number. So I called from a Google Voice number, they answered right away. When I told them what I was calling about again they hung up on me immediately.

Update: After over 90 minutes of arguing with an individual at Pizza Republic via FB Messenger who would not provide his or her name other than "Relevant person", I finally received a refund. But not before Relevant person accused me of "expecting things to happen instantaneously". This was 20 hours after they sent me the moldy pizza, so Relevant person may want to consult the definition of...
