My husband and I walked through right as they were closing up a lot of the stands. We came in from the Kalakaua Ave. end. The first stall that was still open was a jewelry stand to the right. The lady seemed super friendly, and immediately said “80% off for you, last sale of the night.” My husband LOVES jewelry, but only if it is high end (Silver and Gold, not fake). He just wanted to look at the rings briefly, and the lady kept forcing ones that were too small for him onto his fingers. He said “you know, let me check out your chains.” He found one that was just like one he has at home, which is real 925 silver, but this one was a lot thicker of a chain. He took interest in it, and the lady said “it’s normally $2350, but I’ll do $800.” He immediately declined. She then said “$600.” He kept declining her offer, and she kept asking what he would be willing to pay. Finally, he haggled with her for a moment. She wouldn’t go below $500. Then he declined enough, and she dropped it to $450. She kept saying that she really needed the sale, and that she has bills to pay, and that she owes people money. He said “it’s fine. I don’t need it.” Finally she said “$400. Only today, only for you.” He said “no, I really don’t think I’m interested. Thank you though. Have a great night.” She then got RUDE and snapped “I will never sell to you!! Don’t ever come back, you are not welcome here!!” The chain was absolutely a fake. It was too chrome to be real silver. It was scratched up on the clasp terribly bad. The 925 Italy stamp was not placed correctly nor spelled correctly. Thankfully, my husband knows his metals and jewelry, and we didn’t get swindled out of $400. And the fact that it started at $2350 is absolutely absurd, because he has been looking at this exact chain in a jewelry shop back home for $800. The lady “swore” to him that it was real, but refused to provide any proof on it. All I can say is don’t fall for...

Read moreMy whole family found souvenirs for 50%+ off what other stores sold them for. A Ukulele seller even tuned it for us. Plenty of sellers have similar items so don't be afraid to walk away and check other stalls. Sellers are willing to haggle aggressively. The sticker price is only a starting place. My suggestion is to start at a crazy low price and negotiate a...
