ITS CHEAPER TO RENT A CAR THAN TO USE THIS SCOOTER
I live and work in Waikiki. This app and company is creating more terrible experiences than good and it's an embarrassment to our state tourism. I've been in other states and used their scooter system it was much more comprehensive and upfront. This app is extremely deceptive and poorly built.
1st issue: I added $20 got $3 bonus credit, I sometimes use it to ride from my apartment to work if I'm running behind or just tired. My average ride time is 3mins and 48 seconds. But usually less than 4 mins. I am charged "$15 dollar deposit immediately, then my total drops to 15.43 and bonus money to .67 This happens all the time, it charges me 3 different times and if the scooter isn't working, it will still charge the same price without refund. I've written multiple times without response..
2nd issue: I was charged a parking fee when I absolutely parked it correctly next to the other scooters at the correct spot. It even said I had an unpaid ride for weeks sending messages threatening to take legal action when I kept writing to the "contact us email" and chat to resolve the issue they don't even have an option on the app to settle past due rides. The app itself is literally built to make it easy for you to be scammed with multiple charges and only if you go out of your way to solve it will you get your money back.
3rd issue:
Half of them don't even work!! But you still get charged no matter what! They still charged me multiple times when a scooter doesn't work. I have to try and unlock another and then I can't because it already charged my card a deposit fee and then also charged me another $6 ride fee even tho I went no where and ended the ride in a min or less since it wasn't working.. I mean it's just embarrassing sometimes..
I added money multiple times to this app to see if I'm being too harsh on them. And every single time it my money is charged multiple times on cash balance, bonus dollars and even a small charge to my bank account sometimes. Why am I constantly being charged from 3 different times when every single one of my rides are short and less than 5 mins?
I can imagine the nightmares this app has caused to tourists thinking it's a fun scooter app. It's literally the worst app I've ever seen on a state approved level. Arizona had a great scooter app and product. At least have the decency to upgrade your app so it's logical, makes sense and functions properly and openly! with all the money you seem to be stealing from users and tourist victims you'd think that would be these least you could do.
Possible improvments:
Make the app show real time charges, or creat flat rates and stick to it. Stop charging deposits every single ride. That makes no sense even. Especially if you charge parking fees and stolen fees. If you already have those in place charging a $15 dollar deposit at the start of each ride is not smart especially when it's a 50/50 chance your scooter will actually work. It'll just deter riders from using it and ruin their day. Most people are on vacation they don't need to be pissed off cause you decided to make a poorly executed app and business model. $20 should be worth at least a 30 min ride. He'll say 20 min even BUT FOLLOW THAT PRICING. Why are people constantly being charged so much for short rides? You'd be making money hand over fist if your app just worked properly. The way you charge people needs to stop that's the most dishonest system I've seen in a long time. You should be ashamed as a company. Hidden charges and fees and rules. Just say what your pricing is and STICK TO IT. Don't say it's $1 per min and charge $26 for this and $8 for that and oh $3 for this...
Read moreI am serious when I tell you “do not ride nor use this company at all”. If I could rate it zero star and tell everyone who are about to use it to “not use it” I would.
So me and my gf were in a good mood trying to use the scooters for the first time but the scooters were malfunctioning. As soon as I unlocked it, the scooters would not accelerate after pulling on the throttle. We were trying to figure it out but the scooters were charging us by the minute. We managed to pay $20 for going equivalent to five walking steps just to figure this out. We thought maybe after giving it momentum and then throttling would help but nope. We went a block and decided to end it. We did get off the scooter and left it a block away. This is when we received a notification saying how we will get charged around $100 for leaving it away from the ‘station’. Are you kidding me? The app did not remind us that there were ‘go x stations’. Ok, whatever so we started to push the scooters back to its original and it started beeping saying that we need to unlock it before moving it or the police will come get us. Ridiculous. I am not going to unlock it wasting another $20 just to push it. So we ended up leaving it there and taking pictures of the scooters and contacting customer service. By the way, customer service is just a script responding bot. No use at all.
At the end of the day we got charged $60 for 2 scooters that we could not even go 2 blocks with.

Read moreThe only reason why I even gave it a one star is because me and my daughter did have fun on it for the 20 minutes that we wrote on it which they charge me like $13 for the one scooter that we shared riding around but the next day I got a charge that they were trying to charge my card two payment of $34 and some change so almost 60 something dollars but my card was locked so they couldn’t charge it so after that pretty much every day I would get attempt charges for like five dollars and Three dollars and six dollars a whole bunch of them and it happened for almost a month. I would get these charges daily, but since my card was locked, they could never charge them except for one day I didn’t lock my card back and they got the money of almost $70 $67 and some change so I sent them an email which it took the company almost 2 weeks to get back to me and I finally got a hold of somebody. They didn’t send me any kind of apology for charging my card all that extra money they gave me a refund of the original day of $13 and some change really so I try to attempt to getting in contact with them again which it has been no luck so basically they ripped me off for 67 which really sucks because it was fun to ride on and I probably would rent them again if this had not happened and they have done nothing to try to fix the problem...
