Coming here late night was kind of the only option. It was about 1140pm on a Sunday night. Not many options open in Waikiki. Found this place off Google. Went in, only 2 other parties were there. We were seated right away. We ordered Tom Ka soup with Chicken and Pork Pad Thai. The Tom Ka came piping hot! The chicken was tender but there were no bamboo shoots or other veggies... Just a ton of mushrooms. The soup was heavy on the coconut milk too. I'd give it a 2/5. Then the wait began.... We never received our Pork Pad Thai. I finally decided to ask about it. They didn't know what happened to it. There was another order of Pad Thai on the kitchen window but it definitely wasn't pork. The server went back to the kitchen to verify that it wasn't pork.. of course it was chicken... But where did our order go? Oooh... Yes, the other lady who was there. She was eating a plate of noodles... Of Pork Pad Thai!! She ordered Chicken and got our order! 🤦🏽‍♀️ They just laughed at her because she was given the wrong order and she didn't realize it. I mean, some people (for religious reasons) don't eat pork and all they could do was laugh?? That wasn't cool. Our PORK Pad Thai finally came. No apologies for the mix up by the way. She just dropped off the plate and walked away. The Pad Thai was piping hot. Pork was not dry and the Pad Thai itself was tasty but I would give it a 3.5/5. I've for sure had better. Service was terrible and just rude. Especially to the other party and she had no clue. We left paying with exact change. No tip given. None deserved to be honest.

Side note, there were multiple door dash orders. One order was handed to a gentleman and the server dropped it! What a mess. Don't come here if you have...

Portions and flavor has gone down. It's also annoying that the staff keeps hovering and asking every minute if you need anything. I mean clearly we just ordered our table was practically full. We would certainly call their attention if we need anything not when we just placed our order. Halfway through our meal at least 3 staff asked us how our meal is-disrupting our conversation. How rude is that?! Also , they try to rush you out even if you ordered a lot. They'll continuously check your table and kept asking if you're done with your plate even if they can clearly see we are still eating. It's the non stop checking and asking that was disturbing. No common sense at all! It's specially annoying when they swoop in and started clearing out the table even if we have not finished our meal. When I stop them they said do you want a box for take out? Which I said NO we are still eating. I don't know how and why they assumed I wanted a box when clearly we are still eating. We also did not call their attention so why the constant checking? IS THIS THAI HOSPITALITY? Do Thai people act like this to their customers?! We were planning to have desert and beer but changed our mind; their appalling behavior put us off. It put a damper on our dinner. We used to come here a lot but tonight made us realized that we do not recommend this place. The behavior was appalling and totally backwards. It's not like the place was busy. It was still early so we don't get why they are annoyingly too observant and TOO uneducated about service. The portions are small and the dishes not as tasty as before. Disappointed with the staff and...

This location has seen at least 4 different Thai restaurants and owners. Currently it is the second location for King of Thai Boat Noodles that is located at 661 Keeaumoku St. across from Walmart and Sam's Club. The menu is the same, but the service and food is far from it.

I have been here multiple times and haven't found it to be all that enjoyable. Not sure if it is because it is located in Waikiki and the customer base is mostly tourist (no excuse for that) or if it is just bad management and staffing. The friendliness of the staff is not as welcoming as the Keeaumoku location and especially from male server that is very pretentious and borderline rude with his snotty attitude. However, the various female servers I've had during my visits have been pleasant.

Food wise, I also find that it isn't up to par with other Thai restaurants in the area and defiantly not as good as the original location. It isn't bad, just not as good as it could be and what one expects with good Thai food. The straw that broke the camels back was when I tried to order my dish "Thai Hot" and they refused, stating they only do medium because customers complained. Even when I informed the server that I was from Southeast Asia, it was still a no. I was offered chilies on the side, but it just isn't the same as when it is cooked in the dish!

I would have given this place a 1 star, but the female servers kept from this lower rating. I don't plan on returning there and defiantly don't recommend it to anyone wanting to try it. There is another good Thai restaurant not to far down the road that you'll be...

If you’re craving an authentic Thai culinary experience in Waikiki, King of Thai Boat Noodles is a must-visit gem that transports your taste buds straight to the streets of Thailand. This unassuming spot nails the essence of Thai cuisine with dishes that rival those found in the heart of Bangkok. The star of the show is undoubtedly their boat noodle soup. The broth is rich, complex, and perfectly balanced—thick with the deep, savory flavors of herbs, spices, and slow-simmered goodness that’s characteristic of authentic Thai boat noodles. It’s as close to Thailand’s iconic street food as you can get without hopping on a plane. The noodles are cooked just right, soaking up the broth’s bold essence, and the accompanying proteins and fresh herbs elevate every spoonful. Their Pad Thai with prawns is another standout. It’s a masterclass in balance—sweet, tangy, and savory with a delightful chew from the noodles. It’s every bit as delicious as the best versions I’ve savored in Thailand and a generous sprinkle of crushed peanuts for texture. Don’t skip the Thai tea—it’s a refreshing, creamy delight with just the right amount of sweetness to complement the meal. It’s the kind of drink that cools you down while enhancing the bold flavors of the food. The ambiance is simple and unpretentious, letting the food take center stage. Service is friendly and efficient, making it a great spot for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner. If you’re in Waikiki and craving Thai food that’s as authentic as it gets, King of Thai Boat Noodle delivers an unforgettable experience that’s worth every bite.

I went here because the sign board posted on the window caught my eye. Located just before the busy blocks that surround the Royal Hawaiian Center and the International Marketplace, There should be no problems having a seat available. Especially since I went on a Friday morning. I first ordered the crab meat fried rice ($19). Dish was a medium sized portion with plenty of fresh lump crabmeat. Rice itself had plenty of work hei and expertly cooked as the onions in the fried rice retained their crispness. I wish I could bought another one, but the price deterred me. I then got the Yen Ta Fo noodle soup ($18). This soup might have two things that may deter less adventurous eaters: blood cake and red fermented tofu as part of the soup base. My friend tried the boat noodle soup, it's the one with the brown broth in the pictures. I only tasted the broth, it had a nice herbal taste to it. He did mention the beef parts were very nice. The red fermented tofu was pretty strong in the broth along with lemongrass, which made it a enjoyable broth for me to drink. Along with the blood cake, you get tender strips of calamari, fresh shrimp and store made fishcakes. I really did enjoy those. The fresh egg noodles and fish balls in the soup are factory made. Good enough for me. It's a place worth visiting, if you want to avoid the bustle that's down the street. The food is well done, if a bit small in portion.
