I was repeatedly lied to by a sales associate here. Not only did he not know what he was talking about, he also was blatantly speaking down to us!!
First after we asked about whether there was a Hawaii discount (there isn't), he went on to claim there were NEVER sales at Chanel. This is completely untrue and I told him so. Then he claimed those sales were for shoes only, which I told him was also untrue as they include apparel. Trying to mansplain Chanel to me is frankly insane.
We also asked about buying a specific purse, and without even checking the inventory he claimed they had none, as they sell out promptly. We mentioned Ala Moana had one days ago and he seemed surprised, and made no offer to help us check inventory there or order it from there. We later went to Ala Moana, and they had FOUR. We wondered whether he even told the truth about not having it, or just didn't bother checking.
Then, he saw my Chanel ring and asked where I got it. When I answered I bought it vintage/secondhand, he looked down on me!! Then he tried again to mansplain, saying that white gold degrades over time and yellows if you keep polishing it. Sir, I did not ask!!! And I explained that for that reason white gold owners know to rhodium plate their pieces as routine care to keep it white, and we promptly left after we were done being treated like vermin.
We literally drove to the Chanel at Ala Moana to buy a pair of sunglasses and the purse we wanted the same day because we did not want to give this man...
Read moreA lot wrong with this store. As many other reviewers said, they arbitrarily make you wait in line to create the look of demand. (And for some I am sure it is out of discrimination) front door guy told me I had to wait for a sales associate and I could see a free one standing right by the door behind him. As soon as the door was closed they opened it up and said one just became available. (No she and another one were clearly available the whole time) Then the sales associate was just rude. An entitled, condescending, judgmental attitude. (Ma’am you are attempting to sale ME an item so you can make money, now is not the time to act entitled and better than everyone.) She was completely unwilling to help. I had 3 pairs of shoes I came to try on and she acted beyond put out that I would ask her to try them on or pull a different size. She acted annoyed, checked her phone, and would not ask me how the shoes were or try and pull others I may be interested in. Also inventory is atrocious here. Very limited shoe stock. Minimal bags. Take your money to one of the other amazing stores nearby and enjoy their service and products more. I did and was happy to be with a store associate at Dior who was happy to make my experience a fun and...
Read moreI actually visited this store today to purchase my 5th Chanel item since I’m visiting Hawaii. When we arrived we were made to wait outside in the extreme heat because 1 couple was in the store. We waited for about 15 minutes and then we left. Not only because of the heat but because I strongly feel that if we were not black we would’ve been allowed inside the store. There are no signs posted that say how many people are allowed in the store at once, instead they have a sign that says they have the right to restrict or limit people from entering. Which basically gives them the right to discriminate. I passed the store all day long as my husband and I were touring up and down that street since 9 am and never once did I see anyone standing outside waiting. What sense does it make to keep patrons from entering the store when only 2 other bodies were inside shopping instead of allowing them to wait inside the entryway?! I believe with everything in me that the reason was because of our skin color. The joke is on them because they lost money today. We went next door to Gucci and we were allowed inside and told to browse until an advisor was available. Only shop this location if you’re white or Asian so you won’t be...
