COVID Update: You no longer need to set up appointments. Walk in is available again. Entry is only on the first floor still. Hand sanitizer is required upon entry and they have optional disposable gloves if you would like. Masks are required. All the workers still wear mask as well. Their store hours I think have changed and are longer days, I'd call to see what they are.
SA update: I've continued to use Nari. Each time I do go back he has new surprises ready. I have even gone to the store to browse and left empty handed and didn't feel bad. Nari is always available to show things that I'm curious about and I can go home and think it over. No pressure. He is still very easy to reach via text message and is responsive. There are some items that are not located in store or in the country that he has been able to get for me. It may have taken a few weeks, but he found it!
Hermes Waikiki staff are all so friendly and helpful. I do not feel judged there based on my appearance or feel less valued based on the amount that I spend there. Now that I have been back a few times, I absolutely recommend this Hermes location.
ORIGINAL;
As of September 2020, they are open by appointment only. Appointments are usually 1 hour. We went over one hour.
Entrance is only by the second floor door. They will not open the door unless you have an appointment. The door is also pretty sound proof, so, speak very very loudly. ☺️
Covid: there is hand sanitizer provided. Disposable gloves are available and are optional for guests. Associates wear gloves and masks. They are limiting customers as well for each block appointment times.
Parking: validated parking at royal Hawaiian.
Overall review: well worth the trip. 3 floors of home goods, baby good, ready to wear, bags, jewerly, fine jewerly, leather goods, and so much more. Even if it's your first time to just browse like me, to buy or not buy, I would suggest going to this waikiki hermès shop for a good experience.
My first actual appointment shopping experience:
I have walked by the store many times and looked in, and have actually walked in the store only on the first level and quickly walked out after 5 minutes because it can be quite overwhelming and intimidating. One thing that did leave an impression was, the one time I did spend 5 minutes in the store, the SA was very kind, helpful and patient with me even though I didn't purchase. I'm not a high roller, I'm someone who works hard for my money and appreciates excellent craftsmanship. If there is such thing as a shopping goal, then one of mine would be to shop regularly at Hermes. 🤣
I have gone to the other store and got the look up and down and I turned around and left. It wasn't a good feeling. Therefore, I knew, when I was ready, I would go back to the Waikiki location. Of course, COVID happened and shut everything down. 🤣
I was connected to Motonari Fujibayashi (Nari), SA. He was so nice and professional on the phone and welcomed me to ask any questions. He asked if I had anything on my wish list, which I laughed because, I told him I have a dream list and a reality list. 😅
He is very responsive via text and in person he was also the same. The customer service he provided was exceptional. He made my first time Hermès experience absolutely memorable. I did not feel any pressure and I felt I had space to move around the floors without someone staying very close to me like I'm a thief. I felt comfortable. I did not feel judged and he was very knowledgeable in all the products. I never felt rushed and he made me and my friend feel very attended to. He knew when to share is knowledge and when to step back and let us process. Thank you for being of great customer service.
The item that ended up being purchased was something I did not expect him to have, it was limited edition from a past season. But Nari made it happen and I'm absolutely elated. Absolute best first time at Hermès, not what I expected. Thank you Nari for helping me and my friend!! Let's...

Read moreI'm not the type to write reviews very often unless it’s an experience that will stay with me forever. My wife and I recently met Miya Yoshida and had the most memorable experience that we for sure will never forget. Miya took the time to answer all of our questions (and we had a lot) as well as showing us all different pieces that we were interested in. Polite, friendly, knowledgeable, sensitive, caring, personable are just a few words to describe Miya. We asked if she could show us one type of a piece and were shown 20+ different kinds. Even when we decided on what we wanted to purchase, she went upstairs multiple times to show us different colors as well as similar styles. When one of the items we really wanted wasn’t available, she spent so much time to see if she could get it before our departure date back home. Mission accomplished and I know she spent hours trying to get the perfect piece for us. I am in the customer service industry and my bar for customer service is pretty high, but after meeting Miya, my standard has been reset to a level I didn’t know existed. Exceptional service but more importantly we felt the passion Miya brought which I never experienced. She went above and beyond what we had envisioned and so grateful to have met her. I will never purchase from another store or from anyone else. My wife and I have already agreed that we will make the flight to Hawaii, even if it’s only for one day, to experience this again. Thank you Miya Yoshida for making our visit to Hawaii one of the most memorable...
