I went to my appointment, everyone was nice! No doubt about that! But my hair? I am really sad and super frustrated. I went to the Kapolei Salon and saw Mimi. She seemed super experienced. She was fast and she sounded like she knew what she was talking about. I showed her exactly what's i wanted, she told me okay and that she will make me look great! I told her I trust you! I had a conversation with her, talked to her about how long has she been doing hair and she said she has been experienced and doing hair for about 14 years. Don't get me wrong I really like her she is super sweet and respectful and I'm not trying to disrespect her but I totally had a bad experience with my hair. I explained to Mimi please I do NOT want brassy tones at all. We went over the color book and I explained to her that's i wanted ashy tones and low lights as well. I only waited for 10 minutes after she was completely done prepping my hair and putting on all the foil. Then she removed the foil and showed me the highlights lifted and it was blonde and not even orange... I was so excited!!! I came back to the chair to dry and I didn't see anything. She said she mixed two toners so I could have some browns and ash because she didn't want my hair to make me look pale. I was trying to just appreciate a new look and maybe it would work for me. She dried my hair completely and even put curls in it. When I compared a before and after look, all I could really see is a change in my hair color and curls. I couldn't see any highlights as I explained to her how I wanted to look. My appointment was in the evening at 530 and it lasted until 830. I left at night so I gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe I should wait until today to see what it would look like. I woke up in the morning I didn't see a new me, I honestly didn't see anything but just a color changing in my hair. The highlights was not what I wanted or the look and I literally cried. I paid $200 for this and even tipped her for her services because I just felt bad and like I said she is super nice. I called the next day and spoke with the manager and wanted to come in for a correction. I came back at 5 and again until 8. I had a baby sitter about this time and I had nobody to watch baby to accommodate my appointments so my appointments were super important when they were made. We went through the whole process. Only that after she was complete she had told me she did not use bleach and that she only used haircolor to try to lift my highlights which did nothing at all. The second appointment was even worse! I just didn't know what to do at this point. I finally called the Ala Moana store and talked to the GM and she scheduled me in for my appointment that they would exchange services. They would have a senior stylist do my hair and correct it. I scheduled a appointment out pretty far so that it would again as I mentioned accommodate for a babysitter and the appointment. This was set, I was super excited. Today marks the day of my appointment and they call me up to tell me, I'm sorry harmony we need to reschedule your appointment because the lady who was suppose to do your hair called in today. OHHH MYYY GOD I was already at my whits ends already and had enough of holding back! I asked to talk to the GM and they told me she isn't coming in until noon, so I asked them to call me back. I asked the lady is there a way you can accommodate me for my appointment with someone else who is experienced? They said no sorry, we are booked today! Ohhh š² I just wanted to cry and yell "WHY ME"!!!!! So when the GM calls me, I'm going to ask for my money back. I mean how many times can you correct someone's healthy hair without it ruining or even falling out which I already feel my hair has a difference in volume! I hope they give me my money back. We will see when she calls back but I felt the need to leave a review because I really feel like it's just horrible experience that I had to go through this. I know accidents happen and things like this can happen but CORRECT it! Make me...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWorst place to go for a great new look⦠oh, theyāll give you a new look all right not even close to what you were looking for so be prepared. I finally got to treat myself to a very expensive which I thought was expensive at $90 so that I was assured of getting the current Bob that was raging before the summer, oh my God I had enough shoot the guy off of me 2 1/2 hours into the cut. I would literally have an eighth of an inch of hair on my left side. The right side was undone and left. I had to get out of the chair, I had asked somebody to come over and finish this she she was nonchalant about it. I she didnāt even try to shape the whole thing I left with hair hanging further off my left side wouldnāt even close to what I wanted , after waking up after over the summer, I got so mad I went to the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint. This was not buyers remorse. This was somebody whoās not privileged to a lot of great experiences when it comes to self-care blessed with money the last several decades, you know, I said to myself, donāt go to the cookie cutters. Theyāre not gonna do a good job you know pop for some money and you know spend some money and and have an experience. Yeah the experience I paid for was not what I signed up for , so some guy calls me canāt understand him goes on a bunch of nonsense that he didnāt get this and didnāt get that and didnāt see this and didnāt see that it went on for minutes. Finally he gives me his email which was clearly unclear to understand literally donāt even know what he said , he wants to make the experience better thatās not gonna happen. Iāll never step foot in your salon ever again. Donāt need a freebie what I needed back in March was a modern haircut that I had pictures for and was fully ready to describe it to someone well the someone who was gonna cut my hair was $10 more than everybody else and he had politely told me he doesnāt speak much English great glad I had a picture but none of it did any good he didnāt know anything about what I was saying wasnāt following what I asked him to do and Iāve had to wait now and I still have to wait about three more months before I can even attempt to get some kind of a haircut here Iāve been told by another stylist when I ran to get it fixed a month later she couldnāt do anything. There was hardly any hair work and so spending lots of money to grow my hair and growing it and growing it and growing it till I can get this top layer down to my shoulders and then I can go somewhere and get the cut that I wanted back in March . Donāt bother to call me if youāre not gonna be clear on your message. Donāt bother to call me and follow up and take three minutes of the message time to tell me you didnāt get a message or you didnāt see this and you didnāt see that that went on way too long and be clear about your email. OK take the time to spell it out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe workers are friendly but , I am never offered beverages. I felt my stylist was a bit snobby. Something odd happened at checkout. When I attempted to pay with my gift card, the front desk lady said I had a zero balance. It was evening when I went there. This cashier has tattoos on her right arm, glasses, and long dark hair. She doesn't know what she is doing. She asked if she could throw the gift card away for me. I said yes and proceeded to pay with my credit card. The bill was on the higher end, for me, because I had a master stylist, and bought a couple of products. I remained calm, polite, and just took her word for it. As I was leaving, something just didn't sit right with me. I called back to have her check on the gift card in question, as I still had the receipt with the gift card number on it. She was having a bit of trouble finding me and the gift card in question in the system. I felt bad as I knew she was trying to close out. I offered to call back the following day when there was more time, perhaps even to the corporate office, as they are probably more equipped to figure this out. Lo and behold she was able to locate me in her system, as well as the gift card in question after doing some more digging. She was very surprised and stated I had over 100 and something dollars left on there! I had to go back in there and retrieve that gift card. I asked her to fish out that gift card in the trash bin for me earlier too, when she was searching for me in her system. Always, always trust your instincts, and always keep your receipts with your gift cards. I wonder how often that happens at Hoala Salon? I called back the following day to have the charges reversed, and charged to the gift card. Get this, they never refunded the original amount. In other words they charged me twice. At this point, so much of my time has been wasted I may just let my credit company deal with it. This not a relaxing experience. Don't go there. Haircuts are overpriced, they don't even do the scalp or hand massage anymore. There is also a stupid $5.00 "salon cleaning fee" they tack on. I paid $110.00 for an okay haircut plus tip, but that's not...
