Crystal's Nails — Local services in Houston

PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!! I have had my nails done here several times in the past but only because it cost less than most nail salons. Recently when they reopened after the Covid19 restrictions were lifted, I made an appointment to get a manicure. The evening of my appointment, I called and said that I was running a few minutes late and the lady who answered the phone, who btw, was the manager, said that was fine, to come on. When I arrived, I noticed there were two workers that were waiting on two customers. The manager greeted me but I noticed that she wasn't wearing a mask when everyone else was, including myself. After waiting nearly 20 minutes, the manager then told me that they would only have time to do a polish change. I then told her No, that I made an appointment for a manicure, not a polish change (I didn't even have polish on!). After a few more minutes of waiting, I told her that it is bad management to tell a customer (like myself) to come on in, only to tell them that they couldn't do what you wanted them to do (like a manicure in my case). A few minutes later, the unthinkable happened. The manager asked me to be seated at a table and that SHE would do my nails. When I asked her if she would wear a mask (she was less than 3 feet away from me with no partitions up anywhere), she exchanged words (in their language) with one of the other employees. She then told me, and I quote: "You want me to wear a mask. Well, I just got out of the hospital because I tested positive for Covid19." She then giggled like a child and I told her that was NOT funny and I got up and said that I would report her and then I left. SO unprofessional of her being a manager and she should be grateful that the business is even open again and also appreciate and respect her customers but instead, she said something crude and then laughed about it so I will never...

If I could give this establishment 0 stars, I would. The techs are okay, but the major problem is the owner/manager. I left my nail shop I used for years and came here because Crystal Nails was closer to my house. The manager is rude, dismissive and disrespectful. She would ALWAYS talk down to me and other women who looked like me, I noticed. The first time she was rude, I thought she was having a rough day and let it slide. But it happened one too many times for me to keep letting it slide. I kept going because I loved the tech who did my nails- Thi/Tee and would not go if she was not available. When she was there, I would have no interaction with anyone else, so I was okay for the time being. She spoke little English, but somehow, we communicated effectively and when she didn't understand, I would pull up pictures on my phone that best depicted what I wanted and she would execute it perfectly. I would always use her for both mani and pedi because she was always so sweet and courteous. When she left, no one would tell me where she went to and I went a couple more times, but the last time I visited (before the pandemic) the owner/manager spoke so rudely to me just because I wanted to try something I had never done before and was asking questions about it- which is NOT wrong, last time I checked. In her words "I don't want you to say anything if you don't like it. I can't help you". I'm usually cool and laid back and agreeable for the most part, but I declined to have a manicure and just left. You can't be disrespectful to me for a service I PAY YOU for! I left no tip for my already completed pedicure.I haven't been back since and I will never go back I would rather pay extra elsewhere and have decent service, neither will I recommend...

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would because this place is pure shut. The manager is awful & disrespectful. I called to make an appointment and she hung up on me TWICE. I had to drive there & make the appointment for later that day. I made an appointment for two people & when I got there she only took in my mom & not me. She had me wait over an hour even after I made an appointment but she took over 5 other people and I was STILL waiting. They messed up my moms nails, to the point that the color wasn’t even what she asked (French tip pink & white) and there was no type of pink whatsoever & there was bubbles all over the nails & they claimed my mother had fungus on her nails & that’s why they looked the way they did which was a total lie bc my mother doesn’t have fungus. They refused to fix her nails & offered to just do a solid color to cover up. I refused the offer bc my mom wanted what she asked for. I told them I wasn’t going to pay if they didn’t fix her nails & they started shouting at me and took a picture of me & said they would call the cops if I didn’t pay but they didn’t care enough to even fix her nails & then they want to LIE TO MY FACE and say my mom has fungus!! They literally even chased me to my car. This place is beyond awful, the manager is even worse. She doesn’t care about her clientele only her money....
