**update - I visited the store and had a great candle making experience. Because I don't live in houston the store had to ship 4 candles we made. I was asked to pay $20 because they had to put 2 candles in each box, and it would take them two boxes to ship 4 candles. I asked if they can package all four candles in one box because they were all going to the same place, but the store representative insisted that it would cost $20 for two boxes. I didn't know how big those boxes were so I agreed and paid $20 for two boxes. A week later the candles arrived...in ONE box. Don't know why I paid $20, because the charge was not based on the weight. It was because those shipping boxes would only fit two per box, but apparently four candles could fit in one box. Btw the candles were melted and essential oils were covering each candle - prod due to Texas heat. I increased the rating to two stars but be aware of policies and pricing before and after you book.

*update - the store manager emailed me saying that after she spoke with owners that they would like to honor my request. In the email, I was told "thank you for the grace as we work hard in honoring our customers request." To be crystal clear the store manager told me "I can offer you 10% discount", and while she did state that she will talk to the owners about what they could do, she was very adamant that I cannot prove that I was given such verbal instructions from the store last year and never apologized for her accusatory tone. I suppose I will be visiting the store, but I am uncomfortable that I may be discriminated or experience repercussions due to the conversation with the store manager. I will change the rating after my visit to the shop.

I purchased two tickets for Candle Bar last year. Had to cancel due to COVID-19, and when I tried to cancel over the phone, a rep said I can reschedule it later by simply dialing in. I asked for any policies/rules regarding booking the experience in the future, and I was told that I need to call whenever I am ready to make a new appointment and it doesn't expire.

Called today and the manager pretty much told me that they can't honor my request since the purchase was from last year and that nothing was in writing and I cannot prove that I actually spoke with the store. I originally paid $98 and the manager offered me discount - a whooping 10%.

Yes - I don't know the name of the person from the store that I spoke in 2021 and I don't have things in writing because I don't immediately assume that I have to doubt instructions from a well established local business. Whoever communicated the original instruction to me was part of your business and even though that person may not work there anymore, respect your consumers and own mistakes rather than calling them liars. I do not...

First off let me say this place is GORGEOUS. You can find everything from clothing & jewelry to candles, oils to books/journals & let’s not forget the coffee shop. I snagged me a lavender honey latte with oat milk, yes yes recommended. I will definitely be stopping back there to try the other espresso drinks & some shopping 🛍️. Let me also tell you that they have a candle making class on certain days (book ahead of time) and my first candle making experience was amazing! The hosts were super friendly, patient when explaining the candle making process and overall great vibes. They have different options for their complementary drinks so that’s a plus. I give this experience 11/10 because they went above and beyond to create such a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. I definitely recommend for a solo date (like I did) or even for couples and friend dates. All is welcome. I will definitely be doing this again & stopping by again, thank you so much for great vibes while I...

I've come to Forth & Nomad several times in the last few weeks. I like to try different local coffee shops around town and I was hoping Forth & Nomad could be added permanently into my rotation. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back to this one. First the positives. I really like the coffee and the breakfast tacos are fantastic! Now for the negatives. My experience with customer service has been hit or miss at F&N. There is one guy that works here that is super nice and very friendly However, there is a barista (that I've dealt with twice) that is rude and very unwelcoming. It's almost like I was inconveniencing her. She preferred to carry on a conversation with someone else (not a customer) instead of welcoming customers into the store. If I were the owner, I would fire her immediately. Her bad attitude can't be good for business. I will certainly miss the coffee and tacos, but it's not worth dealing with a grump that early in...

I’m very picky about my coffee and I’m always in search of a great espresso! The Coffee Shop espresso is my favorite in Houston right now! They’re doing everything right! It doesn’t hurt that there are also a bunch of cute shops you can browse while you wait for your coffee! Another highlight for me is that they sell non alcoholic aperitifs and adaptogenic beverages which is great to know since I’ve been ordering mine online and it’s just nice to know I could swing by anytime if I need to buy something last minute! :)
