I took my 4 year old son here on 05/04 to get a haircut because his regular barber was closed. My husband and son used to go to V's some years back. Infact this is the spot where my son got his first ever haircut at 1yr old with Tamika (i think) back in 2019. We have the cutest little certificate from that cut back home We made an appt for 11a and a barber with tattoos on his neck (description because he never told me his name) took my son into his chair and started cutting his hair. My son said it hurt and when I asked the barber, very nicely, no insinuation in my tone at all, to take it easy on him because he was in pain, the barber refused to cut his hair and said he would prefer we waited till the barber they initially scheduled us with showed up. LMAO. That's fine, the lady showed up and started on my son's hair as well without combing it and my son started crying. This kid has regular bi monthly haircuts with his dad with no incident whatsoever. I suggested that the barber wet his hair and comb before cutting and she said the dampness would mess up her clippers. Really?! I called my son's dad and he said the same thing I said. Wet his hair and comb it to make it an easier cut. The barber made no effort to do anything so I wet my son's hair myself and combed it. She didn't seem to know what she was doing. My son was uncomfortable through out the cut and she didn't offer any sympathy whatsoever. The hilarious part is, the barber came late and while I was combing my crying son's hair, she said she wanted to start on her 11.30 appt knowing full well she was a good 10/15mins late to work and didn't start my son's haircut till about 11.15a It would help if you employed barbers who are at the very least friendly/polite and as well as barbers who know how to deal with black hair and not just straight or curly hair textures because this was honestly the most awkward and uncomfortable experience I've had.
Edited to add that the barber tried to imply that it was my fault for not combing my son's hair before the cut. Is that not your job? To comb and cut his hair? If she'd said she didn't have experience cutting black hair before we got in the chair I would have left. I even had to remind her to give him a line...
Read moreI had an appointment for a kids haircut for my son. We have been here multiple times before so I know he is a bit skittish in the chair and needs a patient barber experienced with young children. I made an appointment with Tamika but received a call a couple of hours before the appointment saying that my time had been double booked and she was moving me to a different barber (who I didn't know). I called back, explained the situation and was assured that Nic could handle a small child who is a bit fearful of the clippers. That turned out to not be the case and I'm upset because of the completely unprofessional way in which we were treated. First Nic made no attempt to show any patience. His first response was to stop the cut and say he couldn't do it because my son was crying, not because my son was in any way jeopardizing anyone's safety but because he was crying. Tamika who I understand is the manager offered no help or support in the situation. After I reminded her that this was the 2nd time I had made an appointment with her and ended up with someone else, she denied it and proceeded to talk negatively about my son's behavior for the rest of the time we were there. I understand my son is difficult but he is 5, I wasn't expecting such unprofessionalism and complete lack of care or concern from adults toward a customer, unless it is one they don't want to come back. In that case, mission...
Read moreMade an appointment for 9:00am for Friday and even confirmed it on Thur. About 40 minutes after I confirmed it received a text saying the time I made the appointment for was not available anymore and they changed my appointment time to 11. I called them immediately and said 11am doesn't work for me and they offered me a spot at 10am. I arrived at 10am and they told me the person who was supposed to cut my hair was running behind and I waited for 30 minutes and realized what they meant by running behind was that they weren't there yet as people came in after and were taken before me. I had to be out of there by 11:00 thus the earlier appointment request and it takes them about an hour so I got fed up and left. Got a voice-mail saying there was miscommunication but I got an email later that had asked me to please cancel if I wasn't coming and showed my 10am appointment time. The manager said she wanted to make ot right but when I called she was too busy and asked if she could call me back and then never did. This place charges a premium and should honor their appointments. It is ironic that they have a sign that says they only hold reservations for 7 minutes but I had to wait 30 minutes to not get a haircut. This place screwed me twice in one appointment and the manager couldn't be bothered to call me back so I will be taking my...
