Black Hearts Tattoo and Body Piercing — Local services in Huntsville

I feel taken advantage of. My mom passed away a year ago so I came to this shop on 12/20/23 which is my mom’s bday to get a tattoo to honor her. My husband and I both just wanted a heart on our hand to match the heart she had. This shop was highly recommended by 2 of my family members who’ve sent them a lot of business and have gotten a lot of work done there. So it was to my surprise that when I get there they charged both my husband and I $100 for a heart tattoo on our hand the size of a nickle that took the artists 6 minutes to do. I was shocked that something so small cost so much so I asked for a bday discount since it was my moms bday and they said no and that I could get the tattoo anywhere else for $80 but this is where we wanted it. We thought we were going to pay like $25-$50 a piece but we’re sadly mistaken. Because we were there on my mom’s bday I didn’t want to leave without getting it so we reluctantly agreed but I’m having buyers remorse. I feel like we were drastically overcharged and like it wasn’t worth what we paid. I called the next day and asked to speak with the owner but of course I got the runaround. When I showed my family members who referred us they looked at the tattoo and laughed and then became upset once they found out how much we paid. My favorite tattoo place. Not only do they have some very talented tattoo artists, but they are reasonably priced and stand by their work. My hubby has been to Ian and Sam and they both did exceptional jobs. I’ve been to Jo several times now as she already did one tattoo for me (my goonies tattoo and I had Corey Feldman sign my arm under it). And she is working on my sleeve now that included a portrait piece with my mom’s face. I cannot even tell you how exceptional it is. Just look at the picture. Down to the finest detail and anyone who knew my mom immediately recognizes who it is as it just that realistic. I’ve gotten so many compliments so far so I cannot wait to see what it will look like when my entire arm is completed. And to mention, everyone I’ve come in contact with is not only super helpful, but also have great personalities. Now - each artist is different in how they do their bookings and how they draw up your concept. I personally love how Jo has her bookings set up. All online and I appreciate that and that she takes cards. I absolutely hate calling places and talking on the phone so online is my preference. I also hate having to go up to the shop just to talk to someone, so like I said I love the online options. I did return on November 10th for my tongue piercing with Carsten and everything went as flawlessly as my first session with him. Same comments as I had above!

Most people complain about swelling of the tongue and have to wait a week before the longer initial piercing can be removed. With Carsten’s Expertise in piercing I had zero swelling of the tongue and was able to receive the normal barbell piercing the following Monday.

After my piercing, Sam tattooed an image on the inside of my wife’s wrist in honor of her father who passed away 4 months ago. She gave him the general idea of what she wanted, he ran with it, and had the perfect sketching completed in a matter of minutes. After about 45 minutes Sam had completed the tattoo and it was wonderful! My wife absolutely loved it! Sam was very professional and compassionate towards my wife and what she was going through with her fathers passing.

I cannot express enough the gratitude I feel for the treatment we were given by the staff of Black Hearts Tattoo and Piercings.

I shall be returning to see Carsten for my PA and Lorum piercings and my wife shall be returning to have Sam fix a botched tattoo someone else gave her.
