I cannot speak more highly of the exceptional customer service I received at Beard's Diamonds. I came to their store with very little knowledge of fine jewelry but a desire to purchase a custom ring for a sentimental reason. I had an idea in mind of the ring style and stone colors, but I was very unfamiliar with the process of designing and ordering a custom ring. The Sales Associate, Kim, informed me that the best course of action would be to find a center stone first so that the rest of the ring could be designed around the exact dimensions of my stone. The next day, I received an email from Kim with photos of six diamonds that I could have brought into the store with a refundable deposit. The day after that, I received an email from the Sales Floor Manager, Brett, with six additional photos.
I should mention at this point that I visited four other jewelry stores in Jacksonville prior to stopping by Beard's. I told the Sales Associates at these other jewelry stores the same thing I told Kim at Beard's: "I know nothing about buying fine jewelry, but I would like to buy a ring for a sentimental reason." After taking down my information and having a brief consultation on the style and stones I was interested in, each of these Sales Associates assured me that they were determined to help me craft my custom ring with the uniquely-colored center stone. I never heard back from any of those jewelry stores other than receiving an automated message to fill out a survey on the non-services I received. I was starting to lose hope. The fact that Kim and Brett found me twelve diamond options within 48 hours of meeting me showed that they truly were determined to make dreams come true, and that they took me seriously as a customer when so many other jewelers did not.
Once I found my center stone, we got to work with the CAD team to mock up my design. Brett and Kim were kind enough to explain some ring terminology to me as I was uninformed that there were so many different options for a "diamond band" (e.g. pave, prong, channel, cathedral, etc.). They gave me adequate information to make an informed decision without pressuring me into any specific style. After several design iterations, I approved the rings to go into production. I actually ordered two rings - a diamond ring and a Travel Ring. The Travel Ring is the same style but made with cheaper materials as I don't want to risk losing my unique diamond when traveling.
I highly suggest working with Beard's Diamonds, especially Kim and Brett, for anyone looking for a custom piece of jewelry. Their customer service...
Read moreI had my wedding ring custom made here. I remember considering going to a boutique jeweler like Miriamâs, or Underwoods, but I was always disappointed with their service. Iâve known Beards forever so I took a chance there and thought I could always go somewhere else if I wasnât satisfied with the quality.
It was a very different type of design and the designer made it work, despite his own misgivings about whether it was practical. It doesnât have huge or even perfect diamonds (I used my own stones), but that ring continues to delight me to this day, every time I look at it. Which is as often as possible. I always tell women, and even men, that Beards made it for me (based on my original drawings of course).
Fast forward 6 years later. One of the smaller stones on the side band had fallen out. I knew this was a possibility based on the design I wanted and the gold I insisted on. Gold is malleable so things can shift, and the setting was also not the most secure but itâs what I wanted. Platinum has never done it for me the way gold does.
Anyway, I brought it in expecting to have to prove my bona fides as a customer and pay for a new stone and all. I didnât think it was guaranteed and wasnât even going to ask. But, the man who helped me took it and said âI will take care of it.â He didnât ask for any proof that they were the ones who made it and didnât look me up in a system to confirm. I went on to say âwell, also that stone was taken from my grandmothers old watch and I know itâs tiny but the clarity was very, very good. Can I pay extra to make sure the quality is matched?â Again, he was like âdonât worry I told you I would take care of it. Howâs next week to pick it up?â
I also had a tiny pair of hoops I did not purchase there and werenât particularly fancy but I loved them and asked if he could fix. Yes, also at no charge.
As we got to the car I told my husband I wasnât sure if I should go back in there and make sure they knew I expected a new stone and to prove my patronage. I was like, I need to pay something so they donât just treat it like a broken laptop and fill it with used parts! My husband stopped me and said, âthat was the owner.â I was like yea right, how do you know? He replied, as someone who owns his own business, that only an Owner could do what he just did.
Tell me, whenâs the last time you experienced that...
Read moreLadies and gentleman, dudes and dudetts : I have been dealing with Beard's Jewelers since 1999. Let me say this....John Lupo is the man! He is there monitoring his store to make sure that his customers are happy. He is genuine. His staff is absolutely fantastic! If you are not knowledgeable about stones, precious or semi-precious, they are very good at educating you on such information. John and his staff are there to show you the best avenue to take for your budget. I will provide you with an example. I purchased a diamond from John and afterwards I decided to not pop the question to whom I bought it for. I kept it and in the safe it went. 5 years later I met a fantastic woman and wanted to make preparations for dropping the knee. I called Beard's and asked for John personally. He picked up the phone, said hello in a very cheerful way and I went on with my journey to satisfaction. I told him that I had bought a stone from him and was looking to do something with it. He asked me to bring it in and we will go from there and see what we can do. At a time, I was possibly looking to go a little bit larger and he said to me, let me show you the price difference Well, the difference was substantially higher and he recommended that I stick with what I had That goes to show you that he is looking out for the best interest of the customer. Now I have had some custom pieces made there as well. Nathan is their on site jeweler. He has been with them for a very long time, maybe to say he has tenure there. đ He does a very good job on repairs, resizing, resetting stones and especially custom-made jewelry. I purchased five loose stones there and he made it into an anklet for my girlfriend. Awesome work and a very nice guy to talk too. Now let's get down to the nitty-gritty. The bottom line is this company is second to none. If somebody offered you a better price and what they're offering., You talked to JOHN and he will set it right. 100%. I totally recommend going there. You will not be disappointed. ...
