Over all this place started off as 5 stars in our book, the trail fee was great for 6 weeks and our child loved it, when signing up its a yearly commitment which is completely normal and justified, when making payments their extremely flexible and work with anyone's budget they truly due their best to accommodate everyone. that being said the kids attend class with mostly the under studies of Master Vin and Mike which is good their talented individuals but would like to see the masters teach class more often as they are why we signed up. Moving up every belt is a charge that does add up and become very costly especially for the parents who don't have it... What we didn't like was that once your child reaches a certain level of belt they can no longer progress unless they are enrolled into the black belt club which cost more then your standard tuition plus the cost of gear which they only allow you to purchase it through them at a very high mark up. there are no competitions within the school or outside the school and was told by another parent it was mentioned there will be soon at an additional cost.
during our time we have watched the school grow, Master mike and vin and the desk girl Alexis are absolutely amazing, just wish they were more up front about future cost like belts and black belt club ect....
Since then we have watched them have a summer program which was very nice, they opened a second location which we thought was amazing, now lets talk about their after school program, not a fan of it in any capacity as we feel their after school kids disrupt the kids there for karate as well as disrupt the parents trying to watch their children. they are loud, physical, and just run all over the place with little to NO supervision. they started with keeping them in the back of the dojo unsupervised where they ran around in the back climbing on gear swinging from stuff and just rolling around which yes I know kids will be kids that being said they now keep them with everyone else in the viewing area and they climb on the chairs crawl under them scream and yell play fight and disrupt other children that are doing homework or just sitting quietly on their tablets. why are these children unsupervised most of the time the front desk girl is looking after them in between her daily duties ( poor girl does so much work ). days she's not there master Vin is watching them and when he sees them he does get them under control but when is that really in between him staring at the computer or teaching classes. I don't believe the location is large enough for them to have the after school program and I feel its just another form of revenue but not a good one. I do want to say most of the kids that are in after school are also members to the karate school so all the kids know each other but they tend to run wilder knowing their not supervised.
all this being said its a 4 star review so its obviously good. my child still attends the school in which I see plenty of physical and mental results the school pushes physical strength and respect which we are a big fan of. their date nights for the kids are amazing $25 you get a few hours to have time alone with your husband or wife.
This place will easily be a solid 5 star if they either get rid of the after school or hire someone to strictly supervise the kids, if they did not charge for the belts and also don't jack up the price to tuition, add the cost of competitions into the tuition because what are we paying for? we pay for the kids to train so I need to pay again for them to train for competitions???? so what are they training for now? to learn? overall the kids are gaining knowledge respect and stay in great shape!!! I love this place and would like to see it improve to the...
Read moreThis is a well deserved review as we are closing in on a year at this martial art studio and can actually speak from experience.
The location is extremely clean, floors are always clean the walls have fresh paint the lay out is not cluttered and they have all brand new and clean equipment.
The staff is amazing both Mayer vin and master mike are true professionals their lean fit and respectful their super friendly and demand respect from the kids they truly lead by example. Their under studies are very nice always smiling work well with the kids and pay attention to detail. Last but not least the smiling and informative receptionist who is amazing at her job sweet to the kids, respectful and never stops smiling! They really put the family in family fitness by getting the parents involved in classes, they know all the names to the kids, respectfully greet the parents, and work with you on your bill no matter your budget!!! They understand life is hard times are hard and rather work with you then see your child leave! That’s the key is to keep the kids consistent.
They recognize the U.S Holidays and keep everyone in the spirit. They offer a great drop off service for date nights do us parents can get a few hours kid free at an amazing price! They offered a summer camp over the summer we did not partake in due to other obligations and they even have a after school service which is amazing. My kids have made some very good friends here and I met some awesome parents that I’m now friends with.
This place is 5 star of course there is always room for improvement I would like to see a competition team be put together and the kids use what they have learned and how they measure up against others...
Read moreIt's no coincidence that the first word in this place's name is 'family'. Master Vinh, Master Mike, the staff and the other members make you feel welcome from the very first punch :) My friend told me about this place a year ago and I signed my son up for the 6 week trial. Until then, my son did not commit to any class. We tried soccer, gymnastics, and taekwondo and he refused to go after the first few classes. But he enjoyed FFMMA right away. The masters and instructors skillfully weave discipline with fun and fitness in each lesson. After the trial was over, and I wanted to sign my son up, they insisted on committing for a year. I was weary, but Master Vinh assured me that part of discipline is showing commitment. My husband and I began the trial program as well. What I love most about it is the rigorous workouts and the combination of cardio, strength and conditioning with self defense and technique. Are you a parent and can't workout because you can't leave your child at home? No problem - you can bring your child and have him/her play or do homework while you workout.
A year later, I can say that my son's behavior issues in school improved significantly as well as his confidence. My husband and I are in the best shape of our lives. I highly recommend...
