Heights Fitness JC Downtown — Local services in Jersey City

I love this gym! They have every machine you could ever need. The machines are also new and work super well. I wanted to leave a review because I keep seeing reviews claiming this gym is not clean but it’s literally spotless every time I go. The bathroom/ showers and locker area are clean & I feel safe taking a shower there (See photos). Ive literally walked in on the cleaning lady scrubbing the ground on her hands and knees!! They also offer free hair & feminine care products in the ladies room! You won’t get that at any basic gym. This is a gym who CARES about their clients. Not to mention, the staff is also super accommodating and friendly. I love talking to one of the managers, Liz, she’s always so insightful and helps me with whatever I need during my workouts. They were having a little trouble with the AC but they have installed fans, humidifiers and a massive AC fan! These bad reviews have to be fake!!!! Best gym ever and they...

I have to agree with the other posts. It was delayed to open, there were no benches until a month or so ago, same with a water fountain - only after constant pestering from members. There are a few machines that are in need of repair and one or two out of order since opening. There have been septic issues and inconsistent cleanliness.

And the heat/humidity! Yes, there are signs about when, supposedly, the air conditioner will be there, but it's hard to believe this timing considering the other delayed timelines. No temporary solutions besides ONE FAN. That's it. Literally one fan.

Other gyms in the area are more expensive but what are comfort, consistency, cleanliness, worth to you? I'll be pausing my membership until things change. If conditions improve I'll give it 5 stars because I want it to succeed but I can't, in good conscience, support a...

Disclaimer: I’ve only worked out here once using my visitor trial pass, on a Sunday evening/night.

The workout went very well overall. There were few folks in the gym at the time. The gym has all the machines I need and there was no wait time at all. I was quite pleasantly surprised to see the deadlift areas (although I myself don’t deadlift 😂) I did see a couple of cardio machines that were out of order, but it wasn’t an issue since there were so few of us. Aside from being extremely hot, things were great. For its price and 24/7 open time, this would be a great addition to downtown JC. My only concern is that once the AC is functioning this gym will gain a lot of attractions, and the current 4 squat racks / 2 bench racks would become crowded.
