My husband and I were in Juneau in May 2024 on a port stop during our Alaskan cruise. We went into the Bald Eagle Gift and Jewelry store because my husband saw a knife that he wanted to look at.
While my husband was looking at knives, I was looking at Jewelry. Vinny told me he could beat any price that the cruise line was offering. I didn't believe it. Vinny started showing me loose diamonds that could be set into earrings. Then, he showed me the cost. At that point, I knew he was speaking the truth. So I asked him to show me some rings. He first showed me a pre-set ring that he allowed me to take outside to look at in the sunlight. The ring was stunning. However, it was not quite what I was looking for. So, I asked him to show me something a bit larger. Vinny showed me a 2.55 loose lab grown diamond. He also showed me a setting in which the diamond could be mounted. That was it! Vinny gave us an exceptional price, which beat the pants off the price that the cruiseline was offering for a very similar ring.
Needless to say, we purchased the ring! Vinny had the diamond mounted and ready for us to pick-up within 30 minutes. He also gave my husband the knife he was looking to purchase and some additional items.
If we're ever back in Juneau, we'll be sure to purchase from Bald Eagle Gifts & Jewelery again. We will also tell all of our friends and family to visit Vinny if they're ever in Juneau.
We had the ring re-certified when we returned home. We were more pleased than ever with the value of the appraisal. Now, I'm thinking I need to get a matching band!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn my stroll in Juneau today, I popped into The Bald Eagle on Franklin Street. I purchased a wooden whale, and the young clerk, Jase, beautifully wrote āJuneau, Alaska 2024ā on the bottom of it for me.
On the counter were carvings from a beautiful kind of stone that caught the light. Jace explained to me that there are only three people in North America that know how to work with this stone, selenite, because it is so brittle.
He told me he had a small piece of it in raw form and reached behind the counter to show it to me. Immediately tears sprang to my eyes ⦠Jordan had a piece of selenite in his pocket when he passed away. I keep it in the jewelry box he made that now also holds his ashes.
āKeep it.ā Jace said as I explained my tears. I couldnāt thank him out loud, I was trying not to cry.
The shop owner, Vinny, also gave me small selenite heart. Just precious! Moments like this are so special, when people extend such kindness ⦠little things that mean the world to someone else.
If youāre ever in Juneau, Alaska, PLEASE stop in The Bald Eagle and tell them Alane sent you! Wonderful shop and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited Juneau and Bald Eagle Gifts & Jewels on Thursday 10/24/24 onboard the Norwegian Jewel. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They had a great selection of art, knifes and jewelry. The lady who helped us worked at the store with her uncle and they were both extremely knowledgeable and eager to engage with customers. The reason I leave a 4/5 stars is due to a complication. I purchased a combo deal for $350. Which included a Damascus steel Ulu knife with an engraved scrimshaw handle and a regular style knife also engraved (pictured below). She was extra kind to wrap the knifes and whale take my wife selected and packaged for us to take home. However, I donāt think the ULU knife made it into the bundle by mistake and Iāve now lost a $200 blade. If the management would reach out Iād like to have the blade shipped home and Iād be happy To give 5 stars as the service was great!...
