Plaza Family Dentistry is the worst dental billing experience Iāve ever had, and I want to warn anyone before they end up in the same situation.
I went in for nothing more than a routine teeth cleaning. I paid my $20 copay on the spot, which should have been the end of it since I carry one of the highest insurance plans. Weeks later, I was blindsided with a $60 bill for āoral hygiene instruction D1330ā ā a service that was never provided. No one gave me special instructions, no one demonstrated anything, and I was literally told my teeth looked good. Even my insurance company said the charge didnāt make sense, which is why they refused to cover it. Bottom line: Plaza Family Dentistry made me pay $80 out of pocket for a simple cleaning.
I tried to get answers. I called multiple times, but everything I was told was vague, dismissive, or unhelpful. Finally, I went in person to pay and request my medical records. Thatās when I encountered Cindy at the front desk. Not only was she rude, she spoke down to me like I was wrong for simply asking about my own records. Cindy wouldnāt give me clear instructions and only after I kept pressing her did she finally mutter that Iād receive a text to receive my records. The hostility and unprofessionalism were shocking. Cindy clearly doesnāt respect patients, and frankly, she needs a new job that doesnāt involve customer service.
This office will nickel and dime you with bogus charges and then treat you like a problem if you dare to ask questions.
If you value honesty, respect, and fair treatment, do yourself a favor and stay far away from Plaza...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've finally found the one - after much research, I've finally found a dentist to cut through my crippling anxiety - Dr. Eli Wolkoff. I've avoided dentists for years, only going in for emergencies. I've never felt more passionate about a recommendation.
Throughout my visit, Dr. Wolkoff is constantly checking in on how I'm doing - he's calm, has a warm voice, and is able to keep my anxiety at bay. It's also a nice change to see a dentist that I can relate to, south of age 60 - is it possible for someone to have great experience and be cool? HA. How he builds rapport lends to trust, which has been the key to cutting through my nervousness having my teeth worked on. When I say that I could not recommend a doctor more, I mean it - this has been an incredibly difficult area of my life for several years, and I've finally figured it out.
Also of note - Phoebe, the office manager - is incredible. From empathizing with me on my first call to inquire, to greeting me when I arrived for the initial visit. Her warmth and kindness is evident in every interaction. Seeing Phoebe right when I walk into an appointment and again when I'm leaving has also been exactly what I needed.
Super grateful to have found him. He came highly recommended while researching dentists good for patients...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am just now leaving this review as I tried to work with the business for months on resolving a billing issue they failed to do the correct due diligence on prior to my appointment. They were provided my insurance information and did not properly contact Cigna and make sure our plan covered a basic check-up/cleaning. Months after the appointment we get a bill in the mail for $500 saying our plan was out-of-network and that we had to pay the difference. This isnāt my first rodeo or time going to the dentist for a basic cleaning and check-up. They assumed everything was covered because they say āCignaā on the plan name, but every companies coverage with insurance can vary and they failed to validate that prior to my appointment otherwise I never would have gone to a dentist outside our coverage area. Why would I willingly spend $500 to get a teeth cleaning? Long story short, before you schedule an appointment here, make them call and validate with your insurance that the services being rendered are covered and not assumed. The services rendered were great and very professional. Itās the billing department that dropped the ball and has since led me here after months of back and forth and to...
