I was SAVED by Clothz Minded tonight and the incredible women who work there…
My husband and I drove from Topeka to our friend’s retirement party in KC. My boots were so uncomfortable that I wore my flip flops in the car, and planned to put on my boots when we arrived…we arrived to the party in KC, and I realized I had left my boots at home!
We quickly googled “clothing thrift shops nearby” and Clothz Minded came up…we felt good energy from the pictures, so we rushed downtown.
I ran in the store frantic with my Santa socks on in my crock flip flops and classy dress yelling, “Help! I need nice boots to match my dress ASAP for this party I’m giving a speech at!” (I immediately recognized this wasn’t your average “thrift” store, but a beautiful, booshie reassignment store of high end wear for incredibly affordable prices.)
Both ladies on deck ran to help me find what I needed in just minutes…I knew I was in great hands.
One lady (who I believe is the manager), quickly pulled out multiple selections of classy boots, and then encouraged me to wear stockings which she sold for just $5. I made a comment that I haven’t worn stockings since Sunday School LOL, and she encouraged me that “the outfit is not a winter outfit without stockings.” I truly got that she was not trying to sell me, but help me…so I tried the stockings on with the selection of boots she pulled out for me…
The manager then gave me her honest feedback of how I looked, and when I looked in their full length mirror, I felt more beautiful than the original look I had planned before leaving my house. She upgraded me for my classy evening!
When I strutted to my car with my husband waiting, he said, “you look so much better with stockings and these boots…something was missing without stockings, and those boots are perfect.”
All I have to say to Clothz Minded and the incredible caring, empathic women who work there is…
Can you move your store to Topeka??!!! LOL
I hope KC understands the gift you are giving by serving and being there :)

Read moreLiterally my favorite clothing store in KC and beyond, this is gonna be a long review! TL;DR it's a quality & clean second-hand store, owned and fully operated by a single mom, and is the easiest and most fun way to feed your shopping habit with no guilt because you're supporting small biz.
It's such a unique combination of high quality basics, unique/quirky one-of-a-kind pieces, designer gems, formal wear, athlesure, and work wear. I have pieces from Clothz Minded of every genre (like half my closet is from here lol). Prices are so fair and she's completely transparent on how she prices items; there's such a huge range of prices you can go in whether you're looking to splurge or be frugal. It's second-hand, so everything is both unique and sustainable. It's also theeee cleanest second-hand store, girl is a germaphobe (for good reason!), she washes everything before it goes on the rack. Lastly, but tbh most importantly, the owner Nicole & her daughter really make the shop what it is. It's cozy and home-y, but still always fresh and at least a little different than the last time I stopped in. It's fun chatting and catching up every time. I've gotten to know them over years of regular visits. It's gotten to the point where she knows my style so well that she can predict what I'll pick to try on, and holds unique pieces she thinks I'll like (she's always right!). She works so hard for her business, kept it going through covid and breast cancer treatment, and it just gets better every...
Read moreClothz Minded has been THE best BY FAR resale boutique in Kansas City since the day she opened 13 years ago! She has such an eye for fashion and edits her selections so well, her store is beautifully styled, making it very easy for a customer. Every time I go I come away with incredible finds and often unusual that I’m confident no one will be wearing the same thing as me. I’ve have fond memories of seeing her daughter grow up, she was often there with her sitting in the floor hiding under the desk with her notes, books and stuffed animals. This woman knows what she’s doing. She’s an expert in fashion and style and committed to her work. You be a fool to not check...
