Its highly recomended that you make reservations for parties of 3 or more ahead of time. They do accept walk ins, the bar is open seating and there are two tables and window seating available for parties of 4 or less.
I sat at the bar and ordered a coffee, the brioche french toast and 2 eggs over medium. I had to ask for sugar a couple of times and water was never offered to me. It wasnt until i stared at an empty coffee glass and 2 nearly empty food plates that the bartender finally came back, he never checked in to see how my food was or asked me if I would like an additional coffee. He was polite and nice but not a 10 out of 10 for service. He was about a 7 out of 10 or 4 stars out of 5.
The atmosphere was inviting there were sounds of the 80's playing overhead and it was so loud im not sure how anyone could hear over the other conversations within the bar without talking an extra octive louder. The acoustics in this place are not the greatest. Im sure based on its location though they rock to the night crowd. The decor was that of what you expext from a beer kitchen or brewery. Clean. Rustic and comfortable. The beer draft taps hanging from the ceiling were quite interesting. The natural light and lighting were a pleasant contrast. 8 out of 10, or 4 out of 5 stars.
Now onto the food, what you came here for. I ordered a coffee. The brioche french toast, and 2 eggs over medium.
The coffee was warm not hot, it wasnt burnt and tasted good. It was on the lighter side and tasted much like what you expect from a decaf. I rated this a 6.5 out of 10.
The eggs were cooked right, seasoned with the right amount of salt and pepper, garnished with some parsley. A 8 out of 10.
The brioche french toaste were quite equisate. They came 3 sliced cooked quite well. Topped off with salted pecans that slapped. Their were 2 slices of applewood smoked bacon on top and the syrup was a signature bourban syrup that was super unique and really brought the entire dish together. I give this a 10 out of 10.
For dessert i ordered their baby donuts. They came in a brown bag with 2 dipping sauces. A fruit compote and a "cereal milk" anglaise.. both toppings complimented this home made donut hole feel and really went down smooth. There is quite enough to make this a shareable dessert or a fun appetizer to set off the taste buds. A...
Read moreMy husband and I had lunch at the Beer Kitchen this past weekend, and it was a delightful experience! We stopped by in the early afternoon, so it wasn't very crowded, and were able to be seated immediately. Grace V was our server, and she was excellent! When she found out it was our first time visiting the restaurant, she walked us through the menus (including the beer options, which are PLENTIFUL) and gave us recommendations regarding some of the drinks and dishes. I really appreciate her assistance in helping me choose a beer to pair with my food, as I'm a bit of a novice in that realm.
My husband had the fish & chips, which were very good, and I had two small plates: the Lil Gems, which was a delicious combination of fresh greens and vegetables with a homemade dressing; and the sweet potato fries, which were SOOO tasty! The Sierra Nevada Pale Ale we chose was a perfect complement to the meal--very fresh and light. The food menu isn't extensive, but my husband and I agreed that it is better to have a few offerings that are done well than too many menu items where some may not be up to par.
The interior of the Beer Kitchen is very open and inviting, with high ceilings and plenty of space between the tables and booths. The only down side to the ambience was the music: great playlist, but the volume level was so high that it made it somewhat difficult to have a conversation. I do understand that they probably cater to a much younger crowd than the two of us, and it didn't chase us away, but I wonder if the volume could be turned down during the lunch hours when an older clientele might be more likely to visit.
Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch at the Beer Kitchen, thanks to Grace and the superb food and drink! We'd like to return as...
Read moreAfter searching for awhile to find a new brunch place on a Saturday morning, my friend and I stumbled upon this place and were most pleased. The wait staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Our waiter was honest when asked which menu item he would choose (between two). He said he hadn’t eaten much on the brunch menu but knew the Dutch Baby was strong with apples. So I appreciated his advice and chose the other option. The drink menu was extreme with all types of heavenly morning liquor options - mimosas, Bloody Mary’s, sangria’s and more! I even glanced at the regular drink menu which had rotating taps, a nice selection of non alcoholic beers and a pretty decent mixed cocktail and wine list of drinks. As we moved on to the morning appetizers we found ourselves wanting to try them all, but settled on two: zucchini latkes and the shiitake biscuits and gravy. Oh, my, word: AMAZING. We aren’t even vegetarian and I could eat these everyday. They were cooked to perfection, flavorful and plentiful for two. Despite being somewhat full, we ordered our main events: a crab benny and an omelet. Whew, after sipping on our bloody and eating the appetizers we had to take half our meals to go. They were both piled high and worth the reasonable price. My eggs on the benny were cooked perfectly and oozed over my crab meat like a slow moving waterfall. The yolk flavor mixed with the avocado, artichoke and hollandaise was pure joy. According to my friend, her omelette was divine. If we had more time and weren't so stuffed, we probably would have tried the croissant bread pudding. Final last words: RUN to this place for brunch, don’t walk. I will be back. Thanks BK for an...
