The Disney Pin Trading store has by far the most prejudice staff Iāve ever encountered!
Just for context here, I live an hour and 45 minutes away from Disney Springs. Therefore I cannot always go and pick up pins myself; but then I have to pay an extra $10-15 from pin flippers, just to pick up a pin for me. So when I have the intention of buying multiple pins, I take PTO from work and drive almost 4 hours round trip to pick up these pins. Iāve also spent over $2,000 for APās for my kids and I.
When I show up on those Thursday mornings to pick up new pins being released (every single time, as a matter of fact), I have to deal with these horrible cast members. The worst ones are the manager and an older woman that works the register strictly for the new pin releases (Jean). The nonsense with getting pins at this place; their ārulesā (which change all the time), just makes the experience intolerable.
God forbid I want to buy multiple limited edition pins for the sake of pin trading (which is the basis of this entire hobby), and Iām limited to two. If my 12 year old wants limited edition pins, then he āhas to pay for it himself.ā Which means I have to either take out cash at an ATM or buy a gift card for him to use. The manager tells me, ābecause it cannot be me who purchases the pins because I already got two.ā IāM BUYING THE GIFT CARD THAT HE USES! THIS MAKES NO SENSE!!
I honestly forget to give my son the cash āto buy his pins,ā and end up using it along with my card, to buy our pins. I asked the cashier to reverse the transaction so my son can use the cash; Iām told by the same obnoxious manager that ātheir system does not have cash back capability.ā WHAT???? Iāve returned pins as well as other merch there before and have gotten cash back when I used cash to purchase those items.
It seems like these particular employees make up rules as they go along, and makes it impossible for people of color to buy pins there. All these so called restrictions to buy pins, and yet I see pin flippers whom have gotten 6-8 multiples of the same limited edition pin; and sell them for double their original cost, on Facebook and Instagram! So itās obvious that these ārestrictions,ā donāt apply...

Every display felt like a treasure hunt, and I loved browsing through the beautifully crafted designs.
However, I was a bit disappointed by the limited selection of The Lion King pins. As one of favorite Disney classics, I was really hoping to find more to add to my collection. While the store had so much to offer, this small letdown kept it from being a good experience for me.
That said, the overall atmosphere, helpful staff, and the thrill of finding unique pins still made this visit memorable. Iāll definitely be back to check out what new additions they might have in the future.
Four stars āļø for a fun experience, and Iām hoping for more Lion King...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friends and I love browsing this store whenever we visit the Springs. Huge selection of cute and limited edition pins and magic bands. Removing 2 stars b/c I went yesterday and the store worker was following us. I work retail(in a theme park too!) so I know that the rules are to watch customers to deter theft and provide friendlu service. But this time I just felt uncomfortable because my friend and I were just looking and each wall we walked to the worker not only followed us but also stood right behind us, like literally up my @$$. I couldnt wait to leave it was really awkward. CM could have been less obvious and invasive while I...
