Coppin's Hallmark Shop — Local services in Layton

I received 6 catalogs, a birthday coupon plus two other coupon mailers from Coppin Hallmark store in Layton in December. I thought this meant that there were some good deals to be had. I love Hallmark and usually pay full price for my Hallmark purchases knowing that I may get some future reward $$. I also brought a small $10 reward certificated for my purchases of about $200 in the 3 prior months. The staff has been very helpful in the past. When I checked out last night, I was told that I could use the coupons but not with my small $10 reward certificate because the transaction may not provide them a profit. I have shopped at Hallmark for 30 years and never been told there was a restriction on the Hallmark reward dollars which were earned by paying full retail price and a generous profit to the store in the past. I was buying two pair of slippers. They were each list at $9.99 regular price in the mailers. The cashier bumped each of them to $15 and then used my coupon to bring the price to $9.99. Then I was told that the reward dollars couldn't be used since the coupon has been used and the store owner would not allow it. I felt like a criminal by the the time I left! It was Valentines week, and I wanted to get my wife a special card and some charms. We used to go to Hallmark stores for these types of things in 70/80s. I asked my phone if there was still a Hallmark store. I was pleased to learn there was a Hallmark in the Layton Hills mall. It was as I remembered; shelves full of unique gifts and cards, and the staff was so helpful. They took extra time with me and helped me create the perfect gift. It really was exactly what I wanted. It is sad to see places like this, both Hallmark and malls being displaced by online shopping. As convenient as it is, it lacks the fun and the personal service we receive in many of these shops. They deserve our support and our business as members of our community.

Hallmark stores are a great blast from my childhood. I have been going to Hallmark and shopping at Hallmark stores since the late 1970s! I love this Hallmark store at the Layton Hills mall. They always have the seasonal stickers I need and are looking for. The Hallmark ornaments are always incredible & a fantastic selection every year. The staff here is always sweet, polite and willing to help. My favorite collection is the PEANUTS Collectibles Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Woodstock and all the other great characters they have.
