I've been a Key Bank customer since Key purchased Toledo Trust some thirty or so years ago. During that time I've lived here in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and back in Michigan without changing accounts. That account goes back to 1959. This afternoon I tried to get a Medallion Signature Guarantee Stamp which was a complete failure. The company requesting the stamp was a was Alerus handling my retirement for the Municipal Employees Retirement System who I receive my annual minimum distribution amount for my defined contribution per IRS tax filing. My form required only four questions was it over 100 G's, direct deposit and was to be sent out of the USA. and was the address of record correct, that hasn't changed in 40 plus years. The employee said I had to answer an entire list of questions which did not appear on my form from Aleurs. So why did I have to answer the questions? Having lost my in ID in 2017 the former Bank Manager knew me well enough to sign the same paper some 15 or so times without a problem. Now the current staff sits in the back room and I don't know if she is the bank manager or just some employee. The managers office sits empty and you don't know who your talking too. The lady I spoke with first couldn't sign or didn't want to, I never saw her card for ID nor the lady who came out of the back room. I thought it something that a employee meeting the public had a half eaten sandwich sitting on her desk. Not very professional for a bank if you ask me. I went to another bank and got the signature with the Aleurs form no problem. That lady said the four questions on the form were enough. On another area of disappointment the only teller at this branch appears to have been placed on the job with no prior training as she has had extreme problems cashing checks or entering checks for deposit. She does not give a very positive face to the branch. I'm certainly reluctant to use this branch in the future for my banking needs. Read moreSo the branch manager at KeyBank got mad that I made a complaint about his customer service so he closed my accounts. He called me 4 times yesterday while I was with a customer. When I finally got a chance to call back to see what was going on he didn't apologize or ask what he could do to better his service and to make me a happy customer! Instead he wanted to argue with me about the review.. Honestly I never thought I would be treated like this by my bank. After going back and forth I finally just hung up and proceeded with my day. Well this morning I'm trying to buy materials so we can go insulate some homes and my card was declined. So I called the bank and they said there is an anonymous block on our account, we do not want to do business with you any longer per the Livonia branch. Ok cool I already opened up a Chase business account so I'm coming to get a cashiers check I need my money. They proceed to say that I can't come get a check and that they will be sending me one in ten business days... They not only closed my business but also my personal checking and savings account as well as my office managers personal accounts. Good thing I set Chase up last month or I would be really screwed. Read moreI opened a business checking account with Lopa on 1-24-23. I never received any correspondence that there were any issues with my account. Monday (3/13) after realizing I never received my debit card. I went to the local Dearborn branch and was informed I could not withdraw any money as there were 2 blocks on my account. I asked the representative what I could do to resolve this and she simply stated “my address would need to be updated”. This morning I visited the Livonia location and was informed that I STILL could not withdraw money. I sat in there for almost an hour with Janice while she unsuccessfully called different departments in an effort to remove the block only to be told to follow back up with her later today or tomorrow. I cannot withdraw money or even close my account. I deposited cash so I am extremely frustrated with the service I am receiving with little to no explanation on why I cannot get access to cash I deposited in person.
