My wife and I have been coming to Thai basil for over 4 years. We frequent the Novi location and recently have been frequenting the Livonia location as we live in the area. We have never had one good experience at the Livonia location. Today, the sushi took over 15 minutes to come out and was extremely poorly made. The rice fell apart from the sushi and it was covered in sauce, I couldn’t even eat it with a fork because of how it fell apart, leaving me with hands full of sauce. Not only that, my wife ordered a California roll, which she gets every singe time at the Novi location. The California roll here in Livonia only had imitation crab and cucumber in it. When confronted on the lack of avocado, our waitress and a second waitress, reported that a California roll does not have avacdo included and if you want to add it to the roll, you must pay an additional dollar. We called the novi location and they reported that a California roll consist of avacado, cucumber, and artificial crab...without additional charge. The waitress brought out my main course and took a full 10+ minutes to bring out my wife’s main course, as she served other tables and took care of takeout orders (and avoiding our refills until we asked for them). Furthermore, today, and every time we come, there is a table that has younger employees sitting at it with their friends. These employees and their friends talk loudly. They are in the back of the room and I can hear them at the front table of the restaurant each time. This is a poorly run establishment. You have lost a customer and I will be sure to pass on my experiences with...
Read moreI would give a 0 star if possible. Have been a regular customer coming here around 4-5 times a month for the past 3 years. me and my family always get the same thing, which costs us around $65 dollars. We leave a tip whenever we deem it necessary which is 99% of the time. However we went in today, and they told us to leave and that we are only allowed to carry out and not dine in because we had not tipped the employee enough the last time we dined in. First of all. TIPS are not MANDATORY, never are, and never will be. I do not have to tip anyone if i choose not too. Just because you come with my food once, doesnt mean you deserve a 15% tip. If I were to go to a mexican resteraunt, I will gladly tip as they deserve it because they come in and out with food and are working hard. Secondly, i have always tipped 15-20% of my order whenever i come. So when I asked for a reciept to show where I had not tipped, they could not provide me with one. They could also not provide me with any manager, or any name. They had showed me no evidence of any wrongdoing. Terrible, terrible service, very rude and I will not be dinning in or ordering at this resteraunt ever again over a stupid tipping issue when all you guys do is come out with the food once. Why are you so sad and mad that i did not tip, atp let me give you 50% of my food cost. I hope the owner sees this and replies to me to show me some type of proof as I would love to know if i did...
Read moreThis place has gone down hill big time. I used to be a frequent visitor years ago and since I moved away I come here once in a while when I am in town on a business trip, and sadly every times I come here it gets worse. The curry dishes are ok, but I regretfully ordered the pineapple curry and the pineapple chunks were from cans, and not even from a fresh batch. The pineapple is so old, soggy and has the terrible can taste. It didn’t really affect the taste of the dish so I just picked them out. Thailand produces some of the best pineapple in the world, getting old can pineapple in my Thai curry is just not right. The drunken noodle was ok, basic sugar and soy combo and little heavy on the sugar side. The fried rice and other stir fried dishes are not like what they were years ago in both quality and taste. I also made the mistake of ordering sushi. I have never tried the sushi here but I normally don’t order sushi from a Thai place, nor a Chinese place but maybe a Korean place and there are reasons for that. The sushi rice was not right, bland, too wet. Any trained sushi chef should know that sushi rice has to be cooked with vinegar. Anyway avoid the sushi if you actually care for the taste. I think this is the last time I will ever order...
