Pho Lucky Livonia — Restaurant in Livonia

We sat down at 6:18 and were given menus pretty quickly, but it took 10 full minutes for anyone to come back and take our order. That would have made more sense if the place was packed, but there were only two other people inside. From what I could tell, the owner served us, so there is really no excuse for that kind of delay.

Not long after we ordered, a man walked in and sat down. He must have been a regular or at least acted like one, even though the place just opened. I actually timed it. Within 30 seconds, a waitress came over to take his order, and less than a minute later he was brought all the pho fixings like bean sprouts, lime, basil, and so on. He actually had to tell them, “I did not order pho,” so that was clearly meant for us. Meanwhile, we were still sitting there waiting.

Our food came out about 15 minutes after ordering. I got B2 with beef, and I was not told that the spring roll had pork in it. The menu only said “thin vermicelli noodles, herbs, shredded lettuce, bean sprouts.” That is misleading, especially for anyone who avoids pork for dietary or religious reasons.

I have worked in these types of restaurants before. The broth is already made. All you have to do is cook the noodles and add the protein. It does not take 15 minutes to put that together, especially when the restaurant is almost empty.

The food was okay, but service and consistency matter. A good restaurant takes care of all its customers the same way, no matter who they are. Sadly, that was not the case here. You are probably better off going to the Novi location. It’s also cheaper there! Even that one feels...

FINALLY!! A local Vietnamese restaurant that seems to have all the right stuff! My meal was excellent - I have been looking for a place that delivered on what I remember from my younger years at Mr. Trans’s vietnamese -We’ve gone to many different places in the local area and in Madison Heights- The food never quite measures up or seems great one time and then the next falls short ( food)

The summer rolls with shrimp, pork, noodles and herbs were wrapped perfectly and the flavors of each layer came through nicely- not heavy loaded with noddles. Tasted fresh! Served with a hoisin based sauce and crushed peanuts - So delicious!

I had the vermicelli with thinly sliced grilled pork, herbs and crushed peanuts with a light sweet sauce- Wow!!! Fantastic- All the flavors coming together so nicely- balanced portion of each ingredient and again all fresh and well prepared-

Service can be hit or miss; meaning sometimes they are friendly and sometimes flat…but don’t let that deter you...

I have been to all Pho Lucky locations, and this one is by far the best one in terms of flavor and freshness. I ordered the beef pho with meatballs and rare beef, and I was blown away by how soft and flavorful the rare beef was. It seems, typically, it comes over-cooked and chewy at other places, but not this one! The broth was on point as well, and the chicken wings were outstanding too!
