I had a great experience at Kaju Hair. I think that the lady (hair stylist) who cut my hair is the director or owner of Kaju Hair. She was very friently. Not only that, while cutting my hair, she gave me great advices. She noticed that I have naturally curly hair and very thick hair. She recommended for me to have regular thinning of my hair. This was actually the very reason I went to cut my hair yesterday. My hair felt so heavy when I wash it, and I wanted my hair to feel lighter. The hair stylist also noticed that I regularly dye my hair at home, even though I didn't tell her. So I told her that I dye my hair at home every 3 weeks because I have a lot of gray hair. She advised me to only dye the roots because that's the only area that has new growing white hair. She said that I don't have to dye the rest of my hair because that will only damage my hair. She said that my hair is already very damaged because it was hard to comb through my hair. She also asked if I use conditioner or treatment, and I told her that I use shampoo and conditioner combo (mixed as one) to save time. She recommended me not to do that. Since my hair will always be damaged due to frequently dyeing my hair, she said that I needed to take extra care of my hair and put conditioner or treatment separately, after shampooing my hair. She said that she recommends me to use treatment more than conditioner because that would be more helpful to maintain a healthy hair condition. After cutting my hair, my hair feels much lighter and I am happy! I will visit Kaju...
Read moreI would not recommend this salon for a men’s haircut.
I called earlier in the day to ask about the price for a men’s haircut. I was quoted $30; however, upon arriving, the receptionist told me it would be $35. I decided to get the haircut anyway as it was only a $5 difference, and the salon had good reviews.
I was paired with a stylist that clearly didn’t have proper training. Upon prepping my hair, the stylist did not separate and clip my hair evenly. She then proceeded to cut my hair unevenly. I had to request for the haircut to stop as I was scared that the damage would be irreparable. My stylist then had to consult another stylist at the salon. The second stylist then attempted to correct the mistakes and salvage my hair. While the second stylist was cutting my hair, she was teaching my original stylist how to cut my hair. Mind you, I was not warned that my hair would be cut by an inexperienced stylist.
Please refer to the picture. The back of my hair is still uneven.
Overall, I feel scammed by the experience. I was misquoted the price on the phone and had the price changed upon arriving. I paid full price to have my hair used as a guinea pig for teaching. I was not warned that each stylist would have such drastic experience and training.
If you come here, my only suggestion would be to know which stylist you want to cut your hair. Do not leave it up to chance like I did as I was a first time customer. I personally will never...
Read moreI was a customer of one of the hair stylist here for over 10 years since I was young. The hair stylist is good, if you are doing an expensive service. If not, she will spend like 10 minutes on your hair and be done. And if you don't like it, she will redo it but you will feel like you are bothering her as she is cutting like two people at once. The last time I came, she didn't wash my hair, cut my hair in less than minutes. When I said the hair doesn't look even, she said fine. She cut it again but once I got home, I ended up cutting it again myself. Even though I have been a loyal customer for over a decade, I will just pay double and go somewhere else. I seriously felt like I gave $40 to someone to touch my hair for ten minutes as I did it myself at home. Also, she treats you better if you're dressed better. Another time, my family member went for a treatment, she ended up doing other services that was never asked of and was overcharged for those services. My family member stopped going after that couple years ago. Last tip, even if you make an appointment, expect to wait at least 30 minutes. Unless it is your lucky day, you will WAIT. Once, I waited over an hour even with my appointment....it happens ALL the time. TLDR: If you want to go, demand a hair wash and dress nicely, as if you don't belong there. Also, don't go for the simple cuts, cause she won't care. Go for the expensive ones, even though I am not sure she will...
