LA has some of the strangest zoning regulations I've seen. Up a half flight of stairs is the entrance to a mix space office building with Shrink's, Doctors, small business and then off to the right you catch a prism of light in the mirror and some grungy carpet and signs about not smoking and curfew.
Something that is common among the Asian culture is smoking and smoking inside is something I wasn't opposed to when dealing with karaoke. The fact they had to clearly state no smoking and that underage persons had a 10pm curfew was the weird part. Only the most underground of underground places don't care about the laws enough to not put a sign up for either.
My visit here was after some good beer and good food so to keep the mood light we went here. The décor is classically gaudy, but normal for an Asian karaoke café. You rent by the room and order drinks and food for the room. There are small windows into the room, so it's not total privacy, but the sake, soju, beers which are normally cheap, but they get you on the room rental.
I would have preferred a server to take our drink orders to speed things up, but did enjoy some free fries they kicked us down with.
Well decorated rooms with a solid marble table and fairly comfy couches. Decent lighting. Good selection of songs, a handful of the current stuff and the remote control is actually pretty easy to figure out.
I would come back here again, but with a different crowd and on a...
Read moreI love this place for the unlimited karaoke, because the $25 wristband and BYOB is totally worth it if you stay for 6ish hours like we do!
However, you do need to know the "rules" so that there are no surprise charges, and some other tips to make sure you have a good time... so here we go:
bring your ID (21+) each person will pay $25 cash for their wristband when they arrive the only food you can bring in is cake you can only bring alcoholic drinks water, mixers, redbull can be purchased there there is a minimum of 10 people to make a reservation on weekends It is better to reserve for a lower headcount than what you expect... they will definitely charge you for no-shows, but it's no problem to add on people if you reserve for less people in the first place. The room we were in fit 15 people max (we had 13). To get the next size room for 20 people, you need at least 17 (according to what they told me on the phone)
Valet parking or street parking~
The song selection is decent (I only sing in English). If you want more recent songs, I would recommend Max karaoke. But for unlimited karaoke, go to Feel. If there are other places that have the same deal or better, I would love...
