The security guard (20 something) immediately stopped right in front of me with his hand in my face and stated my walker and service animal was not welcomed for not having a harness. Curious that I never heard such requirement was necessary to shop at any retail stores. 3/20/25 No greeting. No smile. Nothing to allow a customer to shop, so I settled for @RossStores a block over on 7th/ Broadway Street @ADA @DTLA @CityOfLosAngeles @CountyOfLos Angeles @OldBank District @HistoricalDTLA @HistoricalSouthBroadwayStreet ****† #OMGawd! I was looking for a new rain jacket inside the store and overheard an employee record on her cellular and cruelly bash on a customer for #coughing. The female employee continued to bash the customer on, and on, and on claiming we are in COVID and to cover her mouth. I was unable to see, but heard everything from a different aisle how discriminating and rude the employee was to the lady customer. When has it been alright to completely treat customers as second hand citizens. If this young female employee is so afraid of COVID or flu symptoms why is she not wearing a mask? Why impose your fears to a customer. I was so disgusted and disappointed after asking 3 employees for a price on a jacket. The tag was completely torn off so only sky lines remained. Both employees told me to wait in line, even though they freely walked around the store. There was no price scanner available nor was I told of one like CVS, Walgreens, and Target have. After waiting in the long line the 3rd person refused to find the price and instead dismissed me to help the next customer behind me. I almost lost it, but calmly asked her, why would your associate ask me to make the line if you are not going to help me? Why couldn't she come over, as I clearly saw her and gossip to you about the help price I asked her? What is this? Conspiracy to refuse the excellent customer service quality? What is wrong with the young workers of today? Why inconvenience the customer? Why ignore the customer request? Why gossip of what the employee refuses to serve the customer? Are customers expected to be treated as second class citizens? Elderly customers do not matter? Seriously! I tried; I gave time before re-entering this place. Customer beware of rude discrimination by the employees of this store location on South Broadway...
Read morePleasant, polite staff. No bike parking or poles or even meters to tether to... I had a bike stolen while shopping at Fallas a few blocks down Broadway while shopping last year. Lock picked. One last comment on bike security AVOID CHEAP CABLE LOCKS. I recently saw a theif approach a cable locked bike in broad daylight, pull the seat and post out via ex quick release, inset post into cable loop slack, twist four times and POP goes the lock and off he rides in no particular hurry.
Enter the lower floor entrance on 7th instead of Broadway and stairs will lead you down to the lower level entrance (escalator ride up is avail next to stairs)... At the bottom of the stairs is a section of handrail that is just about the only thing you can secure a bike and lock to on the entire black.
I bought 2 pairs of men's summer shoes. A breathable mesh black trainer in lightweight Nike air type synthetic materials. - made by Tony Hawk and company it seems very well made. They had a nice selection of men's sandals that were sporty and closed at the toes - usually hard to find in any decent style other than heavy leather Jesus sandals. The selection and prices we both good (as usual). Lots of decent summer Ts, short sleeve button down casual and sport type drawstring and cargo pants. I even found some tool stuff I needed. Socket set and security torx set for my ebike mods. Open to til 930 most nights in DTLA. You can walk 2 or 3 blocks down Broadway and hit Fallas, Burlington and Ross. Fallas seemed like they were going out of business... Only half the store space was used, almost no guy stuff left and everything else was on clearance.
Ross and The Burl tie for my favorite downtown thrifty retail therapy fixes. The Burl being more gender balanced and Ross weighted a bit more towards the ladies. ...
Read moreRichard, the older manager, was completely rude when I tried speaking to him. Yesterday, I walked into this store and found a pair of pants with a significant discount. It was insane to pass up, but unfortunatley I had to leave quickly. I told myself I would return the next day to purchase the pants, which I did today. Mind you, I do not live close enough to drive back and forth. I went in today to get those specific pants as they were the last ones in stock. When I retrieved the pants, and tried paying for them, the associate was charging me full price. I let her know that the I was here yesterday and those specific pants were on sale for more than half off. She continued that the pants are full price so I asked to speak to the manager. Richard was the m.o.d so I explained to him what happened. He was rude, kept cutting me off when speaking, and acted completely unprofessional. For whatever reason, the discount tag was ripped off of the pants when I retrieved them and the associate and manager tried telling me that they were never discounted. I explained to them that I personally came yesterday and again today for those specific ones because of the simple fact that the price was significantly low for those pants. As the store manager and as a store associate, you should know your products and what you are selling. It is not okay for you to act completely unprofessional and have horrible customer service when you are in the wrong. I hope this helps...
