These donuts give me some wicked fart action. They are delicious, and I can't even taste the vegan, but I always get volcano butt after eating one.... Or two.... I can't find a full ingredient list online anywhere, I'm curious to know exactly what's in them. I may be vegan intolerant, I don't know.
Last time I was here, the person behind the counter was kinda funky with me. Looking at me like I didn't belong there, like "Ugh, Dunkin donuts is only a few blocks from here you low life, why don't you go there?"
Was I dressed wrong? T-shirts and Dickies are not the appropriate attire. Should have been wearing a thrift store flannel that was too small, ripped up skinny jeans, big plastic rimmed glasses that I don't need to wear, some ratty old Chuck Taylors, and a waxy mustache. Then maybe I would have been welcome there.
I think they only want a certain type of demographic to come here, like kind of a more exclusive clientele. They should just put a big sign in front detailing exactly who get to buy donuts here and who doesnt. I just got the feeling that I wasn't welcome.
With so many options here in DTLA for donuts that have sprouted up here in the past couple years, I don't know why I keep coming here. Habit I guess. I won't be coming back anymore after this last time. I just got creeped out by the staff. Felt very unwelcome.
Rude, weird, condescending staff person. Bad coffee. More options for donuts in the area. Yeah, won't be...

Considered by some to be the best Doughnut scene in the United States, seemingly an independent mom ‘n pop shop turning out glazed rings on every corner from Pasadena to Venice, Donut Friend plies its trade with old fashioned know-how and creative flavors that change seasonally.
At one time allowing guests to customize their own fried Dough, now instead doing so via Ice Cream and Toppings near the register, staff proves educated and pleasant while describing everything from an extra crispy Fritter packed with Fruit to “Pumpkin Piebald” with Pumpkin Cake and Glaze beneath Cinnamon Crumble.
Taken best as a ‘Dessert Shop’ rather than a simple Doughnut vendor Donut Friend, much like Sidecar and Blue Star, continues to shine by way of an Old Fashioned perfumed with Nutmeg while fans of fancy stuff will find lots to love in both creamy-crunchy Youth Brulee and “Senses Fall” that eats like all the best parts of...
Read moreThese are literally the best donuts I’ve ever had, hands down. And it’s all vegan. A friend suggested this spot while I was on a trip to LA. It’s been about two weeks since I went and I’m still thinking about this place. I was absolutely stunned by the number of delicious flavor options, it took me almost ten minutes to even decide what to get. I’ve been to many donut shops, vegan and non-vegan, and every time there’s a crazy flavor it just tastes like… a donut. These glazes were actually packed with FLAVOR. They also experiment with spreads sandwiched inside two halves of the donut, these were insane. But the best thing I had was the donut ice cream sandwich that’s made with their own brand of ice cream. Unfortunately, I didn’t get one of these at this location, but at a pop up location of theirs at Smorgasburg LA. It was fluffy, creamy, and was definitely the best thing I had on my trip. On top of all this the staff is very friendly, the vibes are good and all of the flavors are named after bands and songs....
