Let me start off by saying this is the 2nd time l've lived at Met Lofts. First back in 2014 and now. This was one of the few places I remember not having any real issues so so decided to come back. Many have stated that it's under new management but I can 100% without a doubt say this new management company has dropped the ball. Met lofts itself as a building is decently ok it's nothing special for the money it's very basic.
Now to the real reason I'm giving it a 1 star, I live on the 8th floor. My first month here there was no real issue just normal living. As the months went on we got multiple new neighbors who have zero regard for anyone else but themselves. On one side i have an apparent OF girl who moans ridiculously loud that you can hear it through the vents in real time. She does this like clock work through out the day, tho I know this isn't something anyone can control it's super annoying. My neighbor to the right has a large and small dog that bark literally non stop to where I had to contact the leasing office multiple times before they would finally tell her the noise needs to stop after about 20 different times going back and forth with leasing the resident stopped once they contacted her. Done right? No
Leasing is an absolute nightmare, Brian specifically, I have to argue with him back and forth through email to get any concern or complaint we have across. We're being woken up now at 3-4am to loud parties, loud music, banging, yelling, screaming and 95% of the time there's no one at the front desk to alert so we get stuck emailing Brian i which he shows ZERO concern and try's to argue that we're basically making this up when we have multiple videos. The leasing office then leaves me a "lease violation" on my door because I apparently knocked on my neighbors door and asked her at 3am to please stop talking so loud she wears headphones and talks as if she's across the street yelling and again Brian and the leasing office ignores the actual concern we have make it into a different situation. Overall I do not recommend this place at all if your any kind of working or respectable adult who values your sleep the Walls are paper thin and it's full of younger age adults who have nothing to do other than play loud...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was really looking forward to making Met Lofts my new home; however, during the application process, I have been very disappointed with how poorly they handle everything. They donāt seem to know what theyāre doing. Itās been two weeks and I donāt seem to be able to really get a clear understanding of what is going on with my application. I have reached out to the management company, and hoping that someone will return my call and can explain what exactly is going on.
Replying to the response: I had provided all of the income information initially when I applied, in addition, emailed the community manager. They donāt know what theyāre doing, and how theyāre processing these applications. The community manager responded to me via email stating that it was declined because of my background, and I let him know that was impossible because if I had anything on my record Iād be fired from my job. He then sent me a screenshot of rent cafĆ© having some kind of an error and stated this could be the reason. He said heād follow up and get back to me. Days go by and I donāt hear anything, I send an email and no response and I called the property only to be received by the front desk in a very unprofessional, rude manner, and thatās when I decided to take things in my own hands and contacted Yardi. Come to find out it had nothing to do with my background, and that my income information was not submitted. When I reached out again to the community manager, I did not hear back from him for days. I get an email this past Sunday apologizing and letting me know he will call me on Monday. He calls me on Monday and apologizes and says heās going to handle everything as he did review my income and everything is qualified , once again days go by and I donāt hear anything until today. By this time, I already found something else applied got qualified and Iām moving in tomorrow. The community that I selected have been nothing but professional, and handled my application...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe're brand new to the Met Lofts, and it's been an amazing experience so far. Our original housing in LA fell through six days prior to moving across the country.
That was a stressful situation. Sereth & Jasmine, the leasing agents at the Met Lofts, helped us so much. We found an apartment here that has completely exceeded our expectations. The interior is beautiful, and the amenities are convenient. I love the style of the building both inside and out. The apartment feels very insulated, which is most likely to do with the concrete walls and ceilings. So far I've rarely heard the neighbors.
Another huge perk is the deposit is significantly less than surrounding areas, as is the case in many buildings downtown. Move to Santa Monica, Burbank, Venice, K Town, the Valley... and expect to pay 1 -2 months rent for a deposit. At the Met Lofts, it was was a cool $750. That's an awesome way to save money upon move in.
As for the neighborhood, South Park, it's absolutely beautiful. Clean, tons of restaurants and businesses, and conveniently located next to Crypto Arena and the Convention Center. If you're looking for a solid place to live downtown, where you can safely walk a dog, take a run, etc. this is definitely it. Obviously you have to pay attention anywhere in a major city, but I feel confident this is a safe place to be.
South Park is surprisingly quiet. I'm expecting that to change for major events but, in every day life, it's a slow moving area. In regards to traveling to nearby places, like the beach, we made it to Will Rogers and Sunset in 20 minutes. That was at 6:30 PM and I definitely expected traffic to be more congested.
So yeah - if you're looking for loft style living, this is the place. And the look & lease special? (a month's free rent?) Come on, you can't beat that. Not even in the midwest where I'm originally from.
So again, I'm a new resident here, but so...
