Nivessa Vinyl Records: The Music Experience (Hollywood) — Local services in Los Angeles

This place is quite a mess…lots of poor condition items and pretty disorganized. Which is fine, and sometimes a thrift like record store is cool, if the prices reflect that. Came in to look at cds, Blu-rays and laserdiscs. Generally very high prices and lots of stuff without a price. That’s fine in theory, except when I brought some items to the front to ask, they just started looking them up online and quoting me way over market prices. I told them that was way too high and no thanks. They started quoting me lower prices. Not a good vibe. The guys were nice, but this is just not how you sell things in a store. Why would I pay over eBay prices for something in worse condition and I had drive to your store and pay to park in Hollywood? No thanks. $15-30 for a laserdisc? Go check out your competition...

The place was open after 9pm, which I loved. But there's no system to its catalog/inventory that makes it impossible to find anything. And even though the cashier was sweet and amicable, she couldn't tell me if they had a specific album for sale. The book section was abismal, dirty, and chaotic. There were random boxes overflowing with stuff laying around and the place looked like it needed dusting. I love indie record stores that feel like a place where music is cherished. I have recently discontinued my Netflix membership because it’s addictive, toxic and brainwashing so now I’m buying DVDs so I can control what I watch and how long I watch it for. Not only other prices here ridiculously cheap but the staff is friendly like Eric that found what I wanted in three seconds in a pile of endless products. They also put on live shows here, even heavy metal shows and they are free!!! Definitely coming back and definitely playing here with...
