I secured a sublet, an apartment at the Woman's Club of Hollywood for my cat and I, which would have provided me grounding through my transitory phase of moving. I was a member there and helped them for months for free. I paid them rent early, the entire board had multiple meetings regarding my stay there and all were accepting, everything was greenlit. Unfortunately - a day prior to move in, I was told due to the club attorney not allowing anyone to stay overnight on a commercial property, I was no longer welcomed to stay. This came out of nowhere, and rendered me homeless as I had not time in less than a day to make other accommodations or find another apartment. They told me they'd make calls to help find other accommodations and never did. Instead they called me hostile for being upset about being led on and even paying rent, then being rejected with 24 hours notice of having no home. It's an absolute disgrace that a WOMAN'S club would treat a young woman who was a member there, in this way. As it is they are in hot water debt, in danger of closing. Part of my staying there and renting was to help with that. I also offered to help them with other various means of trying to raise funds (events, fundraisers, etc.) so they can stay open.
Since my story has gone public, several others in film/tv industry including a fellow historian, an actor, and a director have messaged me telling of similar experiences they had with Rosemary, specifically. Not in them living there - but in business dealings and...
Read moreI came here to attend an event. Very interesting space for a smaller event. The event it self was awesome. Medium size, probably 150- 200 people or so. The parking fills up pretty quick. I wonder if the lot next to the Womans Club could have been utilized. There are also two paid lots near buy for $5 and $10.00 per vehicle. Nothing fancy with the space but definitely adequate for someone looking to host a business event and get people in. There is a main hall and several rooms adjoining the hall and upstairs. Like other posters stated, the chairs are pretty uncomfortable but Im pretty sure they were included in the renting.
One of the even coordinators stated that electricity wasnt included in the rental which seems odd for a event space rental but I was an attendee...
