I'm an independently contracted delivery driver for an amazingly large, on-line shopping company. As I deliver in my personal vehicle, my customers' ratings directly affect my ability to work. So, with my vehicle loaded, I'm a few deliveries into my delivery block when my junk, barely over a year old ASUS phone, from which many problems had recently been plaguing me, finally died.
All of my delivery work is done from my phone. I thought of calling the amazingly large company to have one of it's employees to meet me so they could continue my delivery route in one of their big blue vans. But I couldn't do that as my ASUS wouldn't even hard restart. I was close to Bardstown Rd, so I figured there had to be a Verizon location somewhere, & I found this one.
I walked in about 6pm, knowing that I had a vehicle loaded with other peoples' belongings, and a 9pm deadline before those late deliveries would affect my rating. Marvin & the other salesman were with customers, so there was a bit of a wait. About 6:40, Marvin was free to serve me. He did a great job and all though I was kind about it, I was very firm that I needed this process to be expedited.
Marvin got me a new phone, case, and liquid glass protection, and got me out the door by 7:30. He was able to transfer everything as it was backed up, and get my Verizon device dollars from My Verizon. He also applied the liquid glass protection because right as we were getting ready for all the signing and paying, the store had a momentary black-out. He used the time needed for the system to reboot to apply the liquid glass protection. Most importantly, all of my customers received their packages as I was able to finish my route before the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had been waiting a while to get a new phone and had a good idea of what I wanted. I just wanted a newer version of the iPhone that I have had, but not necessarily the newest one. I was already familiar with the way that it worked and apps and Iām very comfortable using it. Unfortunately, I waited till the last minute to replace it. I really wanted to have a newer phone with a better camera and more storage for my first big family vacation to the beach and Disney World. When I spoke to someone about getting when I was looking for, they didnāt have the color that I wanted in stock because it was such an old model. He said he can get it in still, but I knew it wouldnāt be enough time since I waited until the last minute before my trip. I know color isnāt a big deal, but I was so disappointed to maybe buy a phone that I didnāt really want if I wanted better pictures of my vacation. I was so frustrated with myself for not doing it sooner. But the representative was really patient with me and had such a good understanding of my budget and what I really wanted. He saw that I was frustrated and provided a solution I hadnāt even thought of. The phone he recommended was completely what I wanted and didnāt even realize it as an option. He showed me a newer iPhone that had even more storage than the one I was looking for and was even nicer, for about the same price. Iām so thankful he helped me instead of me just trying to order one online by myself. I totally wouldāve missed out on enjoying this new phone that I have. And I have really great pictures of my kids at the beach for the first time and tons of videos too. I wouldnāt of been able to take them with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went into the Celllular Sales store 15 minutes ago with two pressing needs:
I dealt with a young bearded fellow who was helping another customer - and trying to close the store in 20 minutes.
The details of the phone upgrade were too complicated for us to clarify at that moment.
While he was downloading a new phone for another customer, I almost desperately asked him: āDo you know any way I can get back some phone memory like right now, so my phone will start to work again? Iāve tried all the obvious things.ā
He looked at my settings and found that a lot of memory was tied up in podcasts that I have downloaded over the last year.
He showed me how to pull down a list of all those podcasts, none of which I need to keep on my phone right now. None of them has data I have added. I can go back and re-download any of those podcasts any time I want to.
I walked out with my second problem, really the more pressing problem, solved.
This poor guy - trying to finish up with another customer and trying to get the store closed in 15 minutes so he could have some Sunday evening to himself - was able to multitask, think on his feet, creatively problem-solve and answer my question.
I walked out of that store a totally happy customer. I will definitely go back there tomorrow and find out if I should do my phone upgrade through...
