This is the third review I'm writing. Apparently they think it's okay to delete my reviews. Don't get a gun from here. I bought two guns here. And I've had a problem both times. Not only did I have to wait 20 minutes for someone help me. But I was told there was a 72-hour hold in Colorado. I came back three days later just to find out sportsman's Warehouse keeps it an extra day because that's how corporations roll they think they need to do things different than the rest of the state.
The second time I filled my paperwork out on the 6th. I came back on the 10th. And they couldn't find my background check after I had done it a second time and paid for it. They were kind enough to not charge me the second time but still.
This wouldn't have been too big of a problem but I drove all the way from south of Denver 2 and a half hours to come pick it up. All in all I had to spin 10 hours extra driving and two tanks of gas. Because they don't know what they're doing. A lot of this wasn't totally the workers fault. It's just the way sportsman's Warehouse runs things. The fact that they deleted my other to reviews really pisses me off.
You're better off going to your local gun store for 72 hours means 72 hours. Not only that but your local gun shop will have better knowledge of what you're looking for, accessories and can most likely answer any questions about your purchase. I honestly wish I can give him zero Stars just for erasing my other two reviews. That is completely unacceptable. I'd love to sportsman's Warehouse until I purchased a firearm. I will still go there for other things just not firearms. And they should tell people it's a 4-day hold of a 72-hour hold because the first day doesn't count. Why does it not count? Because there a corporation and it has to go through their corporation like they're the government or something. It's not totally the people who work there is fault. Other then them not being able to find my background check in the computer. I hope this helps some of you if it stays up they'll probably delete this one too!
UPDATE: I filled out this review this morning before heading in there again to try to get the same gun. They messed up my order again which puts me at which puts me at 15 hours drive time and $120 in gas. I purchased it online and for some reason when I bring it up they have to apply some gift card for the 850 something that I paid for it. when I've already paid for it. They accidentally voided it out. So they have no way to give it to me I have to drive all the way back again which when all is said and done hopefully sometime this week will be will be a total of 20 hours drive time and $160 in gas and that's if they even figure it out. I called to get the number for corporate and I was hung up on twice. I called back again and nobody would answerd. This is without a doubt and I'm sure anyone reading this could tell the worst experience I've ever had buying a gun and I've been buying guns since 1999. If you're still reading this I strongly advised to never buy a gun from sportsman's Warehouse. One way or another I'm going to get corporate's number and not that stupid 1-800 number and file a huge complaint. On top of that this is the first review experience I have ever filled out in my entire life. But it was so horribly bad I had to. I paid for this gun on March 30th, it's now April 14th and I'm still waiting. It's been in the store...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to sportsmans to purchase a Kimber Custom Covert, which I did. It has been a dream gun since I seen one. I took the gun home and after a couple of days i was able to check it out. The Crimson Trace laser was off so i tried to adjust it. The windage adjusted fine. The elevation, not so much. After looking closer it was obvious the adjustment screw was stripped/broken. I took the gun back to sportsmans. I was told immediately, by Tony the gun department manager that all gun sales are final. I understood that but I was sold a defective weapon. This does not matter. All gun sales are final. Ok, all gun sales are final. What are you going to do about this? Tony offered to ship the gun back to Kimber or I could deal with it on my own........That was it. Nothing else. There was no offer to call Kimber or Crimson Trace. Set me up with another gun, nothing. Maybe I was expecting to much. This was only a $1500 purchase. I am being sarcastic. That's a lotta scratch. I have been a loyal customer for a few years with no problems but I am blown away by the horrible customer service the gun department has. So my option is to give up my dream gun immediately after purchase or deal with it myself. Hasn't even had a round put through the gun yet. So I give up the gun for 2 weeks. When I called to check after 2 weeks I was told the gun was back. I went in to pick the gun up. Tony brings it out to let me know it's fixed. He also let me know about Kimber replacing the slide spring. How nice it was of them and they didn't have to do that. Ok, they didn't have to do it. Why did it need replaced? Still a brand new weapon. Still not a round put through it. Anyway I noticed some black marks on the top of the gun. They were not there before. I've used CLP and it will not come off. But if I bring it to their attention I'm sure I know the answer I'll get. There have been rounds put through the gun. Kimber fired 3 clips through it. They are just doing their job and making sure they are not returning a defective weapon to a customer. So I didn't even get to fire the first round through it. I really enjoy the experience of purchasing a weapon. Taking it home and setting it up. Taking it to the range to shoot. I feel sportsmans and Tony took that. I regret ever buying a gun from sportsmans and would not recommend anyone else do the same. If you want to have a 100% no return policy maybe you should take the time to make sure the guns are 100% before they are put out for sale. Probably loose fewer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe worse customer service experience that I have experienced in many years.
Here is what happened. On Nov. 23 I bought a jacket that was on sale. I wore it for a couple of hours outside (it was cold and windy that day) and realized it was not as warm as I thought it would be. The next day I returned it to the store (with all the tags) and the clerk took my credit card and ran it and gave me a new receipt. I was in a hurry that day so I did not look closely at the receipt. Yesterday I went online and checked my account to see if the credit back had been posted. To my horror I found that I had actually been charged AGAIN for the jacket. So I was now out $276.00 to SW without anything to show for it. I couldn't believe the incompetence.
Late this afternoon I went back to this store and was waited on by a young woman named Leann at their return counter. I explained to this young woman what had happened and showed her both receipts and a copy of my bank statement. It took a few moments for it to register with her than she made a phone call to someone (her supervisor?) to ask how to handle it. The phone call ended and she asked for my card and started to run through their machine. When it came up on my side of the screen I saw that the credit was only for $138.00. I tried to explain to her that there were now TWO charges so I should be credit back $276.00. She was clueless to this fact and seeing things were going no where I asked to speak to a manager. She disappeared to a back office and was gone for about 10 or 15 minutes. During this time no one came out from that office to explain to me what was happening. She finally came back and started to run my card again without any explanation. I had to ask her how much she was crediting back to my card. When she was finished she handed all the receipts back to me without a word. I said "wow, not even a sorry for all the inconvenience SW caused me". She only answered "I'm just trying to do my job. We had to check that you did not return the jacket at a different time" Great. They had to check that I was not trying to cheat them while their gross incompetence would have cost me $276.00 if I had not caught it. It was quite obvious to me this employee didn't care one cent and all she wanted to do was get rid of me.
I will NEVER shop at SW again. Fortunately there are other alternatives in this area. All I can say to those who shop here pray that you will never have to return anything and go through the horrible experience that I...
