This location is plagued by congested traffic in the parking lotjust like all other Costco locations I've visited, especially around the area near the gas pumps.Ā  The checkout always has long lines, even if the lines do move relatively quickly.Ā  As a result, there's always an elevated level of stress when shopping here.Ā  This is contraryĀ to our typical experience at the Sam's Club location in Mechanicsburg, where the parking lot is always wide open and there's never any line at the checkout.Ā  So 1 star off.Ā  That said, Costco has noticeably more selections, especially of ethnic varieties. E.g. Japanese mochi ice cream, Chinese moon cakes, Taiwanese pineapple cakes, Vietnamese instant pho, Korean jerky, French chocolate crepes, Belgium Waffles, etc. You get the point. It's almostĀ sounding like Trader Joe's.Ā  Certainly none of these are available at Sam's Club.Ā  Items are also more competitively priced,Ā with many items having instant savings at any given time. As a result, we found ourselves always spending more at Costco than at Sam's Club.Ā  Costco's rotisserieĀ chicken doesn't taste as good as Sam's Club's, but it's hot dog at the cafe beats Sam's Club hands down.Ā  Too bad Costco is 12 miles further on the wrong side of the river.

This was actually my first visit to Costco. Clean well lit and spacious warehouse. You must be a card holding member to enter or be with a member. I saw an 82in screen TV at the entrance. There was a vast variety of products but the sections are condensed. It was an enjoyable shopping experience until self check out. You're required to either bring your own bags or use their discarded boxes to transport your purchases. Not a major inconvenience but something to be aware of beforehand. I also met a childhood friend's husband, who I had only seen on Facebook before today, that was working as a manager during my visit. We took a picture together.

I'd DEFINITELY would of given them a 5ā˜† but it seems, just in the past month, I've been having to return a produce, spoiled eggs or moldy yogurt . NOW I don't think it would be their fault. They can't tell whats inside an egg or if the avocados are going to ripen properly . But the Kirklands yogurt being moldy AND SEALED and the expiration date is 1 1/2months away. Now that one I wonder about. But besides that, I have no problem. They have been very quick to return my money. Thats why I gave them the 4ā˜†.

On Thursday afternoon, October 10, I visited my mom in Harrisburg, PA, and stopped by Costco to pick up some essential items for her. I was excited to enter the store and see two young, energized employees enthusiastically checking membership cards and encouraging customers to scan them. I had never encountered this level of engagement at other Costco warehouses.

However, when I was checking out my items at the register, the woman scanning my purchases appeared visibly tired and disinterested; she didn’t smile or offer any greeting. I thought to myself that she must not be having a good day. After paying, I approached the exit gate, where another woman checked my receipt. I greeted her with a "hello," hoping for some acknowledgment, but instead, I was met with silence as she handed my receipt back with an unfriendly and dismissive expression. Why are there so many rude and disrespectful people working in this store?

I’ve never experienced such a negative and unwelcoming environment at Costco before. Don’t get me wrong; I love Costco and always enjoy shopping there because of the exceptional service. I appreciate seeing employees with friendly, welcoming faces. After my visit, I felt like the workers at this Harrisburg location seemed forced to be there, lacking enthusiasm and motivation, which was deeply disappointing.

I’m left wondering if the store manager is aware of this troubling issue. Is this just the way employees at this Costco location behave, or is there something else happening that’s affecting their demeanor? Are there any issues related to customers' race here? Where are the supervisors or team leaders to ensure that customer service standards are being met? It doesn’t seem like this Costco warehouse in Harrisburg, PA, is upholding even the most basic customer...

In September 2022, we joined Costco for the first time. Absolutely chaotic store. The woman at customer service spent the majority of the time telling me about why I should upgrade to their executive membership before ever seeing the inside of the store, when she should have instead told me about how certain items must be bought in certain quantities or any actual useful information. So we go through the store, mostly disappointed in the selection, however the danishes looked amazing so I grabbed one pack which was more than enough for my small family. Did not see any signs about needing to buy two, since the store was absolute chaos and packed. I had a hard time just getting to the table where they were. I asked for help at the self checkout because that was all the was available, not understanding why I could not check out the danishes. I was told I could leave the line and go grab another, after having spent a long amount of time waiting already. After he explained I could not buy just one, I said just charge me for two, I don’t care, but I only want one. Instead the employee charged off with my danishes, never to be seen again. I approached multiple employees trying to recover the danishes, but no one was willing to help. I voiced my concerns to the employee checking the receipts, and he shrugged as he told me to have a great day. Did not return to the store and did not renew my membership. It has been years since, and it is still my worst customer service...

This Costco is decent, they usually have plenty of parking.. and they have most of everything you want except for organic foods.. I put in request in there request box for organic foods and vegetables and coffee creamer, etc. but I still have not seen that show up on the shelves… it seems that most people here in Pennsylvania like to eat GMO chemical ladened foods and beverages.. I like as much organic and non-GMO foods as possible, including my coffee creamer, which would be half-and-half. I like organic eggs, etc. so I can’t say they did have cage, free eggs. But the egg selection isn’t very big. It’s a very small freezer. There’s two glass doors you can stand there and open and get your eggs out. Other costco ive been too have a whole cooler room you walk into to get your milk, eggs, etc… and they usually would have organic eggs in there, but not this one. This one also doesn’t have any alcoholic beverages.. like others I’ve been to in Georgia and Tennessee. I also cannot find any organic tortillas at this Costco… the options are very limited so I get a few things here and I leave and I go to the giant and get a few things there and I just kind of pick and choose at different markets, but I don’t like the fact that I cannot buy what I want, conveniently , without having to waste a lot of fuel, looking around different markets. Supply clean food nobody wants the chemicals in the GMO...
