I've been taking my mink coat to John Seelye for nearly 20 years. In addition to replacing the lining and other small repairs, they keep it in storage there over the warmer months. I have always found Mr. Seelye and his associates to be very professional and nice. Another reviewer said he and his wife had a really rotten experience there, but realize that everyone has a bad day every now and then. Perhaps that was the case. I was rather surprised to read this review, that's the only reason I'm addressing it. I have no connection to the place aside from keeping my coat there, so mine is an objective review. My late Father did business with John Seelye for many years-he only bought fur coats from the best.My Mother passed away last year and I inherited 3 of her fur costs, 2 from John Seelye and 1 from another from local furrier.I needed to have them all appraised and valued for possible sale.When I explained that I did not need written appraisals for home owners insurance - I just needed to know their value- John took a few minutes of his time to look them over -even the coat from another furrier and informed me of their value free of charge.We then spent a few minutes reminiscing about my parents - both long and loyal customers.John Seelye...
