Closest Closet — Local services in Lyons Township

My adult daughter and I stopped in Closest Closest as we were walking in LaGrange shopping. I did not know this store was open and was so glad to find it. We love resale stores! The store is small but organized and well sized and sorted by item type. The store offers a monthly point membership which is a new concept to me in resale clothing stores but seems to be a GREAT idea. The owner was super nice and she described her goal of keeping clothing from being tossed out and becoming waste or being sent to other countries to be resold instead of donated. The store does buy clothing and then you can gain points to rebuy other items in the store. I think the idea of reusable clothing is great especially for a person who likes to change up their wordrobe often or for a special event. This places is every thrift shopper’s dream!! You can trade in your old clothes for credits (called “hangers”), then spend them on anything in the store—and nothing costs more than 7 hangers. Seriously.

You do have to sign up for a membership, in order to access these perks, but it’s 100% worth it for the benefits. And, if you prefer shopping at home, you can do so on their website. Just add to your cart, and they’ll get your order ready for the next time you stop in.

In addition to a glorious shopping experience, the people there are absolute gems. Everyone is so friendly and sweet, and I always end up having a fun conversations. Plus, their taste in music is on-point.

So, if you’re sick of the ridiculous increase in price at thrift stores—yet still want to shop second-hand—then this place is right-up-your-alley!

Closest Closet is such a unique, budget-friendly, eco-friendly way to shop! For a low monthly membership, members can bring clothes they don't wear anymore from their own closet to earn credits to bring home new-to-them pieces from other members' closets! I have gotten so many cute shirts, sweaters, and dresses for special occasions. When I am done with an outfit, I can wash and bring back for someone else to enjoy!
