This is definitely lacking the quality that the other Pho Que Hong that I've been to. The 2 that I've been to, one at the same strip mall as Jusgo Supermarket at I75 and Legacy Dr, and another at 15th street and Independence, offer a much bigger portion (twice as much) and better quality and bigger quantity of meat than this Pho Que Hong at McKinney. Because they use smaller bowls and plates, it fools you into thinking the food was just as much. But, whereas the Pho Que Hong in 15th @ independence and the Pho Que Hong at 75@Legacy always fill each one of us (4 kids and 2 adults) with each order, this Pho Que Hong at Mc Kinney leaves us unsatisfied and still a little hungry. Our order of noodle soup comes in a smaller bowl than the other two Pho Que Hong in Plano, and the bean sprouts portion comes in a small palm-full worth instead of a big handful. The fried rice noodle also came in a smaller plate, although the flavor is very similar to what the other 2 Pho Que Hong offer. The portion of rice and quantity of meat in the grilled pork with white rice is also much less, but again the flavor is similar and pretty good. The meatballs in the meatballs and vermicelli dish were significantly smaller than the ones we've ordered in Plano Pho Que Hong, but again the flavor is similar. If they wish to get more support and get repeat customers, they really have to lower their prices to reflect the smaller portions or up their game and give as much portion as the other...
Read moreThis place used to be amazing, but sadly times have changed. If you're ready to be mistreated, this is the place. I've been going here for five years now, it's been my most favorite place to get pho, everything about it was amazing for the prices including quality of service, but management has definitely changed. I always get the #P3 or the Fat Brisket, Flank, Tendon and Tripe big bowl and it tastes amazing. Very, very tender, flavorful and filling. But all this potential and promise was destroyed after the administration change, the waitress is being very passive aggressive and you could hear her yelling at the cooks in the background. She shamed everyone including me and my spouse over little things, like for us she got on to my spouse for having a cup of water close to the edge when it wasn't on the edge at all, she kept on pretending to be happy, almost like she was on something or drank too much caffeine and decided to fake it all. She desperately tried to get us out of there ASAP and I believe it's due to us being a interracial couple because when I come here alone, that doesn't happen. She even rudely questioned a disabled man and his family next to us if they were making the right choice in where they were sitting because he has a wheelchair. Customer service has dropped so hard and I need to be honest about it. Maybe order delivery or go to a different location so you won't need to handle this waitress who will discriminate against you and...
Read moreUnlike others here I'm not going to grade it against other places in its category. McKinney is not Dallas. This is like Panda Express land so don't get up in arms people. We have limited options in restaurants here. Especially any asian restaurants and definately vietnamese or thai , chinese, the Japanese food is definitely not real Japanese , I have to go to addison for that and Plano for Chinese. I would say this seems an authentic Vienamese place. The people that ran the place were Vietnamese. I was dropping off a box at FedEX and an employee there suggested I try this place for lunch. I thought about soup but was overheated. So decided on the tofu spring rolls which were excellent. And the stirfried noodle tofu curry. I really liked both. Especially the spring rolls! Everything was very fresh. My curry had mung bean sprouts. They were fresh. This is something to take note of as not all restaurants that have mung bean sprouts in a dish are fresh. Good sign.Definately want to try the spicy seafood soup next time. The staff were excellent. The prices are fair and the food is good. Try it...
