Venezia Trattoria — Restaurant in McKinney

Friday 8/22/2025, we had another amazing dinner at Venezia Trattoria!!! I absolutely love this place and their food, the staff is so friendly and makes you feel so important and I can tell it’s genuine.

Tiba, our bartender and sometimes waitress, always takes great care of me and my family every time we come in for lunch or dinner. She is so sweet and helpful, whether we are at the bar or at a booth in her section. Her communication and attention to detail are top notch. She is also very intelligent!! Plus, she always checks to see if we need anything and always tries to make our time and visit pleasant. I would definitely ask for her!

Albiona, a server who also works there is also super sweet super nice, always super helpful. She is one of the best. She was there training, and she always remembers everyone’s names. She makes you feel very welcome and appreciated for coming in.

I definitely would recommend the bar as well for an amazing experience.

Tony, who is one of the owners son’s has also taken great care of me, bartended me one night and was just awesome! He is very personable, easy to talk to, and you can tell he really cares about making sure you enjoy your time there. He has great food and drink recommendations, makes excellent cocktails, and keeps the atmosphere fun and welcoming. You are always in good hands with him!

During our night, Friday night, Monica was our waitress. She was very polite and helpful, always made sure we had what we needed, kept our drinks full, and after our dinner she offered us dessert and was able to recommend not one but two delicious desserts which we ate.

About 6 months ago, we ordered on door dash, and the door dash driver mistakenly grabbed the wrong food and delivered it to our home. Benny the owner and his son drove to our house and delivered our correct meal, and that was one of the best customer service experiences we have ever had.

Every time we go here it’s always amazing great experience and we get treated like family.

A+ five star 100% As most of you know, ordering on Uber eats is great and convenient, but it does have its limitations. For example, they don’t update the restaurants daily specials, which I enjoy the most. But settle in for a short story: My son really wanted chicken Alfredo so we were on the hunt. After a few, thumbs down selections, I remembered Collin County foodies providing reviews of this newish restaurant to McKinney. They are well established apparently in Richardson. So a quick check of the Uber menu quickly found my son stitch, but nothing else was immediately tickling my fancy. I went to the restaurants website and found their daily specials and immediately wanted the Filet Mignon Opua. And unfortunately, it was not available on the Uber eats app. So what’s a hungry girl to do except call the restaurant and see if any accommodation can be made. I spoke with a lady who answered the phone who transferred me to a gentleman who apparently was some sort of manager, and he told me what to do what to order in place of the fillet And he would watch for the order to come through. So I did as he says, call them to make sure he got the order and to make sure that he substituted it properly and let me just say I was not prepared for how good the food would be considering it was delivery. Everything was ordered as I wanted and it was warm and fresh and cooked to the proper temperature. I cannot be happier. I’m so happy they’re here in McKinney and I highly encourage everyone to try them out. It’s a great family run Restaurant and come to find out the lady who answered the phone is ‘Boma’? And it was her brother Tony that was super helpful. Brother and sister owned with their mom and dad! Like I said, A+...

I was not sure what to expect from a place once a "Steak and Shake" but, I was totally blown away. The renovation of the interior was far and above anything I ever expected. But we don't go there for just the interior, we go for food. So, how does it rank?

Food - 10 stars My wife is Italian and she has taught me to get the basic spaghetti and meat sauce. Why? The sauce is the base for most of their dishes and if isn't good then nothing else will be. Well, the sauce is a 10. As for the noodles, done perfectly. The bread was cooked just right and was not overwhelmed with butter like so many places do.

Atmosphere - 10 stars I am not saying this place is just far and above better than any place else but the renovation was done so there is lots of room. The tables are far enough apart to where you actually feel comfortable walking to your table. Honestly, the exterior could use to help but this is to be expected.

Service - 10 stars I am normally pretty skeptical when a place is new in regards to the service. This is why we did not visit until they had been opened at least a month. The service was top notch. Our server was very attentive without being annoying. The manager came over and we had a lovely conversation. My primary indicator on service is my ice tea glass. If it goes empty then there are problems. If it does not then we are good. We were good.

If you are looking for a nice place to enjoy a great meal, give them a try. You will be happy you did. Also, you will be going to a family owned restaurant and not some chain.
