I wasn't going to post this. I decided it needed to be posted. I went to hydeout cafe this morning off of Eldorado parkway in Mckinney Texas. I have eaten there several times in the past. This time was extremely different. I was seated at my booth, ordered my food and proceeded to eat. Within 5 minutes of eating, I saw something on the wall next to me and it was a roach. I then jumped over and quietly called my waiter over and said a roach is on the wall. I lost all appetite at that point. The waitress called the manager over and let her know a roach was crawling on the wall. The manager came over and I let her know in a low tone about the roach crawling on the wall. The manager was quite rude with her tone and said am sorry, I will take care of the bill and walked off. One of the employees at hydeout walk over and said, we put stuff down last week and we normally don't deal with this type of issue and its a great place to eat. I then said, I understand and agree. I have never had any concerns in the past. We casually started talking about other things and the manager came back over and asked us to leave because she didn't want a scene and they are a small family business and she don't want any recordings etc to go on. I was shocked and said I am sorry, I am confused. What has caused you to approach me like this and she repeated it again. I was like, have I caused a scene, been loud or rude during this whole time. She then walked away. To be treated this way is unacceptable. For her to assume I was going to record and cause a scene is stereotyping me and if I were to cause a scene it would have been when I saw the roach next to me. She was way out of line. I could have took a picture of the roach and recorded her unprofessionalism and I didn't. If I had known I would be treated that way I would have recorded and took photos.
The owner should be aware of this unacceptable behavior from...
Read moreHideout Cafe whole-in-the-wall family owned business. Very clean, friendly, open space, lots of empty tables and resonable prices. Came within 1 hr of closing. First and last time to visit. This was a last minute decision to dine here after church on way home.
I just was not impressed with atmosphere (music too loud and busy song selection & noisy sounding), service ordinary, coffee was high priced (only got water with lemon), while still eating waitress asked me if I wanted water refill (took glass to refill), another waitress refilling condiments & bottles at tables (while I was still eating), food tasted plain (bacon was burnt tasted and extra crispy - buttermilk pancakes were dry - honey was two packets, which was not enough).
Used credit card to pay - I had to wait for credit card machine at cash register/hostest booth. Then clicked print receipt which lady informed me my itemized receipt was it. I asked for a printed receipt showing I paid by credit card with tip. The lady's tone and body language came across as irritated when I asked. She did ask about how my meal was which I informed her I was not impressed and first time visiting. She tried to offer me a gift card and/or opportunity to come back to try them again. I declined her offer.
Your'll have to judge your own opinion of the restaurant. It just did not wow me enough that I would dine in again. I love mom/pop type restaurants. This one did not met the mark for me.
Poor Richard's Cafe and Red Truck Cafe both in Plano are family owned as well beats this...
Read moreNormally when you order online for delivery, if you get drinks and or an add on like side of bacon, etc., something will be missing. I am patient and gave them the benefit of the doubt, because they do get very busy at breakfast time.. So I never complained or said anything about it... Today I ordered and added an OJ for my husband. It didn't get delivered with our order. So I called and spoke with someone, he said I was refunded, because they didn't have any. Which is acceptable, but he was speaking over me in a very loud tone. I would expect that if I was refunded for something you knew you didn't have, I would have had it marked on the receipt/order on the bag so I would understand what happened upon delivery. But instead I had to call and then go look it up through my email to find out that it was refunded. (Which the other times I was missing an item it was not refunded, because I went back to make sure I ordered it in the first place and there was no other emails stating a refund, so I know that is not the cause for the past missing items). I didn't like the way I was being spoken to by the man that was taking over for his son, I am assuming the owner. He seemed to be blaming me for using door dash for my online order instead of calling the store to make sure they have everything I was wanting to order... But if I ordered by calling, door dash wouldn't deliver to me. Plus I orderef through the restaurants website and door dash was offered as an...
