Unfortunately I guess itās true: you really do get what you pay for. Iāve come to the salon here several times for my hair and most of those times Iāve been mostly satisfied but the last 2 times were each more disappointing than the last. Iām not sure if I asked for something they donāt do very often or if my hair just isnāt cut out for that style or if they just arenāt good at it or what. The first time was ok but fell short of what I had hoped for and was supposed to last longer than it did. The second time it didnāt even last a full 2 days and literal chunks of my hair came out, which I didnāt notice until Iād already left the salon since they were hidden under the rest of my hair. I have no desire to ever come back after multiple failed attempts at the same thing by different stylists and chunks of hair being fried off and ruined, even if a free fix is available āwithin the first week after the appointmentā. More importantly, as the professionals here, if my hair was at risk due to appointments being too close together for the type of service I needed, it should be the stylistās responsibility to let me know of any risks Iām putting myself into before continuing with ruining my hair. All I got was a question about when my last appointment was and who did it. At the end of the appointment I was told I should ātypicallyā wait āat leastā a few months between appointments. Itād be nice if my hair lasted a few weeks let alone a few months if Iām supposed to wait that long, and it would be even nicer if Iād been told that beforehand so I wouldnāt have ruined my hair in the process. Lesson learned.
The ladies there are all nice enough but unfortunately being nice isnāt enough to give a better rating for the quality of the actual services I paid for. On top of that, I personally find it very unprofessional when one stylist comes and hangs around another who is actively working on their clientās hair just to ask all kinds of questions like ādo you like doing this type of service?ā or āhow many times have you done this type of service?ā to the working stylist. For stylists who donāt like that service or who havenāt done it often, it puts them in a weird position in front of their clients, and for clients who would prefer not to be a test subject for stylists who havenāt done it often, Iād prefer not to find out my stylist has done it fewer than x times WHILE they are actively doing it to my hair. I also donāt love hearing my stylist tell the other that she doesnāt really like doing it but āsomeoneās gotta do itā while Iām paying her for it. As someone who also works in customer service: keep those subjects to your personal conversations and keep your personal conversations away from the clients.
I wonāt be back and I certainly wonāt be recommending the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice place to go and get one-stop-shop beauty, skin care, and personal wellness care products. However, they are expensive in most aspects when looking at comps, especially within the area. The store is a little oddly laid out and counter intuitive at points throughout. Moreover, and why this is 3 stars and not 4, the employees are nearly impossible to find and get help from when you need them, and when you don't they won't leave you alone. It's too bad. There isn't much competition around there like it and all they need to do is have some moderately decent customer service; I have been in there more times than I can remember for gifts and personal purchases. For example, I recently bought 2 bottles of perfume, a curling iron, brushes, hair ties, and face masks. When I asked the employee checking me out if they still did a gift to the customer for purchasing above a certain dollar amount, she just stared at me. So I repeated. She then replied "I don't know I'm new here this is my second week." Which is fine and understandable. Nevertheless, why wouldn't you go ask someone who might? Instead of a response meant to disregard and slough off the customer. Another time just before this last Christmas, 2021, I went to buy my daughter a gift card there and couldn't find any employee around, that I could identify, who could point me to where those were. It took me 15 minutes to find the gift cards. At which point someone came over to ask if I needed help (once I was already looking through them for the one I wanted to give - it ended up being a candy cane scratch and sniff). Considering the distance to travel here, the expensive nature of everything in the store, and the employee experience, I will go somewhere else next time such as Sally's Beauty Supply or the like. If you can, I would recommend going somewhere else. Save yourself the time, money, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI walked into ulta last friday and was greeted by Brooke. "Hello" we both said. She said, "Today,we have.." I responded with, "no thank you". My response was polite but i was b-lining for the back of the store. I knew what I was coming in for. My sister asked me to purchase a specific shampoo and I was in a hurry to head to Redding before the 5 o'clock traffic on Friday. After I said no thank you. I hear a loud scoff behind my head and Brooke began to laugh at me. And the girls behind the counter began to laugh at me as well. I felt myself start to feel overly frustrated and embarrassed. As I had just finished my last day at work as a psychologist in a school as the saying goes, you never know what people are going thru, be kind, always! As I was trying to understand why I was being laughed at, I decided to ignore the disrespect. I went about my business and chose not to respond. After all, they are young girls. A nice young lady in the back helped me. I wish I would've gotten her name. After getting my shampoo, I headed to the counter where after ringing up my shampoo, the girl who also laughed at me said, do you have cash, because we're only taking cash. I said, I didn't know that. She said well it only said that on the doors and we told everyone when they walked in the door then she smiled really big at me and said, got cash? After stating i didn't, i turned and walked away. Appalled that I was just bullied by a bunch of girls at ulta. I wont be back! The experience was...
