I want to start off that I am a huge fan of sourdough bread. So when I saw this place I was hoping for a great sourdough and a decent sandwich. I got an 8 inch pastrami which cost $13.99 (which is pretty pricey), so I hoped it would deliver… it did not. For starters the sourdough had no flavor whatsoever, and really deflated my hopes. Maybe they have a weak strain? Not to mention it was super dense and extremely gummy. The pastrami tasted good… even though it seemed to be only one layer, may I remind you it was $13.99. The fixings for the sandwich are standard, but the variety is lacking. The customer is average stand up counter service, nothing to tip about even though you feel obligated to give 15%. It’s not a regular deli experience, so I was hoping they would at least tell me what I can put on the sandwich. For a brand new place they should expect those questions, but I was treated with the “look at the menu” explanation. I worked in food service for 5 years, and I usually try to give a benefit of a doubt, but this just felt weird. Finally, Im guessing the atmosphere would be better if it wasn’t so busy. But the place is much too small. Me and my wife got to-go orders because with the limited amount of tables, all were taken. And there was no room to wait in store, so we had wait outside near yogurt hut. Overall, I think its a crime to name your shop Sourdough and Co. and have some of the weakest sourdough ever. I will not be returning. Hopefully this is helpful if you are thinking of trying it. My advice, go to Jersey Mikes, Jimmy Johns, or Firehouse. Cheaper and you will probably get more from the sandwiches....
Read moreFirst time my husband and I tried Sourdough and Co and it did not disappoint! While I understand other comments about the prices, I am always willing to pay whatever price as long as the food, service, and atmosphere meet my expectations and they very much did! The space is small but clean and comfortable, the food came quickly and correct, the service was perfect and we felt like as customers our experience mattered. The owner even stopped to chat with us and get our feedback. She was very friendly or forthcoming about how she values her customer's opinions and wants their experiences to be the very best it can be. She also has a high regard for her staff and making sure they are fully trained. Her all around care for every aspect of the business was so refreshing. For those who have not tried Sourdough and Co you really should, for those who have and didn't have the best experience or enjoy the prices, give it time and some thought. They just opened, they will be busier than expected at times and that may present some challenges that they will work out. I believe given my experience their prices will definitely be worth the quality they are striving to provide every customer! Overall, we had an excellent experience and it deserves all the 5 stars we...
Read moreA new sandwich shop, and catered around sourdough, my favorite bread! Wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Other than it being… a sandwich shop.
My first impression was that it was small. Coupled with the fact that they seem to be popular makes for not a lot of room to maneuver around. I noticed many people needing To-go food as the eight or so tables were all full.
They had a decent selection. Not just cold cuts, or cold sandwiches, but they also had French dip, and brisket (what I ordered) and soup, flatbread pizzas. I was pleased with the amount of choice.
The price was more than expected for a sandwich, and while it seemed on the higher end of quality, in the end it was a sandwich. Maybe that’s just my age showing. I remember $3-$4 for a six inch, now they are $12?
It seemed a while to make the sandwich, but they were packed when I arrived.
The staff was friendly and seemed very active working on getting the orders out.
I have to admit, the sandwich was delicious. I will have to omit the soup next time to save money and keep my lunch
