My sister in law and I threw my sister's bridal shower brunch here. We got to decorate it beautifully and we used their catering. Everything turned out mostly nice, but the staff is not customer friendly. At first, they would only give us 6 hours before the start of the event to set up decorations and the brunch was scheduled to start at 11am, which meant we could only come in starting at 5am. We knew that would not work for us so we had to ask several times could we come in the day before to decorate. They finally agreed to let us do it when my sister in law and I came in to sign contracts and do the floor plan a week before. She said we could come in 8am to 5pm the day before. When we came that day to set up, the lady tried to make us leave at 2 because she had to take an hour lunch break and had showings later, which we couldn't be there for. She did not mention any of this the week before , so my sister in law asked for the person above her, which was the owner. The owner was very rude, loud and aggressive. He was very unapologetic and blamed his behavior on his "accent". We ended up getting to leave at 5 but we still had to leave at 2 for an hour and it and ruined our schedules. The next day when the owner asked me how is everything going, I brought up the issue again and he preceeded to get loud, aggressive, and talked over me. The head of the catering team was rude and condescending as well. The place was not even worth what they charged. They have regular folding chairs and tables, the room was dusty, they had power issues and the plugs were loose. And the catering team did not give us full portions of food, which what we paid for. It was cute for what it was, but not worth the money...
Read moreIf I could do 3.5 stars, I would but I want to start by saying DESPITE the cons- I would still have my reception there again. The space is that gorgeous! We booked the upstairs ballroom space about 6 months out. This was definitely one of the most affordable venues in the city and it gives you so much of the information found in the contract upfront on the website - they list all the food and bar options very transparently with costs which I so appreciated. The two issues I had I will get out of the way quickly. I would suggest if you book this venue for a reception - I strongly recommend a wedding planner/coordinator - because working with the manager was just difficult. She was less than helpful, not accommodating, never offered suggestions or alternatives and was often vague in answers - I had to clarify almost everything important at least three times because she was so unclear. When I scheduled the tasting, half of the food there was food I had said no to being interested in - not great. Second issue, the food needs work - and you are required to use them on Saturday weddings. I was told by guests it was just basic wedding food so for the price I suppose not bad - but nothing amazing. OTHERWISE - the owner was very involved - every step of the way he was there, very affable, fun and easy to get along with. The space itself upstairs is gorgeous - hardwood floors, tall ceilings, and so many windows. We had 60 people and there was more than enough space for dancing and eating in the same room. Anyway, we all had a blast the day of - despite the stress of coordinating and planning beforehand - it...
Read moreWhen my husband and I walked into the Balinese for the first time, we instantly knew we'd found the perfect place for our day.
Modern, Industrial and chic elegance had a baby and voila! The Balinese Ballroom came into fruition!
The beauty of the venue is so understated. You don't need a ton of decor to make it your own.
Our ceremony was in the downstairs ballroom. Our reception was in the High Point Ballroom.
While all the spaces are beautiful with their dark wood floors and brick walls, the High Point was even more spectacular than we originally thought. It gave off a speakeasy vibe that we didn't anticipate but absolutely loved.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention and thank 3 specific people: Taylor, Mike, and Cheryl.
Taylor answered all my questions and accommodated our schedules so effortlessly when needed. She also took extra care to help use put together a great menu for our evening.
Mike, who's the owner, is just hands down the coolest man we've ever met. He was an unexpected bonus when we came down for food tastings and should be protected at all costs because he's a treasure. Thank you for giving us those tips on purchasing liquor, Mike, because it came in handy.
Lastly, there was Cheryl. She was my bridal party's attendant. Just her voice alone, calmed me down and put us all at ease. She was so kind and helpful.
Thank you so much for being part of our wedding day! We loved getting to work with you to bring our dream to life. We appreciate your help in creating unforgettable moments that will last a lifetime. We had such an amazing time, we forgot to...
