See's Candies — Local services in Mesa

We've been visiting this location (and others) for at least 10 years. We usually have friendly, patient service but we are very efficient at ordering because we know what we like. We visited twice this Christmas season and had rude, impatient service both times! ...Shocking for a service oriented candy store like See's. The first time we were greeted rudely and then rushed with ordering 4 custom packed boxes, knowing this is a lot we split up and each ordered two boxes. When we went to check out the woman who had seemed to be in charge was utterly disgusted that we had split up to order quickly even though we were together and told us as much before rolling her eyes and slamming our purchases on the counter. She was supposed to mark the boxes but in her utter disgust of us as human beings she didn't so our daughters opened whatever on Christmas and then traded for the correct candy. At least one of the boxes was packed with the wrong candy (I always order by full name to avoid confusion) so some of the gifts didn't include our favorites. I figured it was an anomaly, a bad day but it was obvious from the second visit that this is a store attitude now. We were greeted hostily, "Do you want anything from the case? " As if I came in for a chocolate Santa, we were again rushed through ordering and shoved along. We'll try another location or just order Ethel M online from Las Vegas. Hopefully they'll calm down and develop some customer service skills now that the holiday rush is over. Next time we'll go to San Tan and hope the manager is better there. See’s chocolates definitely deserve 5 STARS but if you go on a Saturday night during holiday shopping you will wait over 30 minutes in line with only 5 customers in front of you. This will begin to feel like a 1 STAR experience especially If you have kids with you it’ll be a living nightmare keeping them from touching everything. They need more staff to speed up the gift wrapping extra time involved.

It’s about $10 for a 1/2 a pound which is 10 pieces and if your like us going into the store is especially nice being able to get all the flavors you like only since each piece is about a $1.
