Me and my family experienced an an absolutely horrible encounter when entering the gym. When walking into the gym initially, me and my sisters were told we werenât allowed to work out because they were under the age of 16 (we have stayed at other highly acclaimed hotels such as the Peninsula in Chicago and the Mandarin Oriental where this was NEVER an issue.)The brunette woman at the front desk explained that if we came back with a parental guardian, even though I am 18 years old, the minors would be allowed to workout. Upon returning with my parents, we were told that my sisters STILL couldnât workout at the gym, when five minutes ago we were told the opposite. The manager came out (with a very hostile attitude) and explained that this is hotel policy, even though the gym isnât owned by the hotel. I tried asking for what reason guests under 16 couldnât workout at the gym and why, with parental guardians, my sisters still couldnât workout at the gym. We were never given a good answer. This sort of customer service is unacceptable and both the manager and the front desk workers attitudes were highly confrontational and hostile. Would never recommend working out here, especially not with your kids. Working out should be available to people...
Read moreTerrible experience!!! My sisters and I went down to this establishment to simply workout and move our bodies. We go down with one key card and check in. The people at the front desk interrogate us about our room number after we told them our room number and showed them our key card. Then they continued to question us about our age, especially confronting my twin (us both 16 years in age) about her age and they âwe needed identificationâ to workout. Since when do we need to carry our passport to workout at a gym? Beyond ridiculous. Apparently since we were underage (my twin and I), we needed an adult supervision. But my 18 year old sister wasnât enough of an adult to watch us? Ridiculous again. Ok. We come back with our parents and they continue to shoot us down, saying that my twin and I werenât old enough even with adult supervision. They kept changing the rules on us. Terrible management. Iâve stayed at great establishments such as the Peninsula Hotel and the Mandarin Oriental, never had an issue with our age and working out. Argued with us the entire...
Read moreThis is the best hotel gym in the country. Itâs basically an Equinox. Another reviewer said itâs the same price, which is absurd. Itâs less than 1/3 the price vs Equinox for an annual membership and of course itâs free for hotel guests. Iâm extremely picky about weight training and they have everything, including dumbbells over 100 lbs, which almost no gym has. If your condo gym doesnât cut it, join this one. Really convenient for Roney Palace condo residents (you donât even have to leave the building to get there).
The women at the front desk are always super nice and staff is always cleaning. Their evening hours sucked during covid but theyâre starting to expand them.
THREE squat racks, over 6 benches, a myriad of cardio equipment, heavy dumbbells, multiple boxing bags, kettlebells, rowing machines, all the machines you could want. And that cedar 1 Hotel lotion in...
