I booked two facials at this spa for 10:00 AM, as a special treat for myself and my guest. The instructions clearly stated to arrive 30 minutes prior to enjoy the amenities, so we arrived at 9:15 AM. Unfortunately, we were told by the front desk that the spa âdoesnât open until 10â and we could not go upstairs.
At exactly 10:00 AM, we were finally escorted to the spa, only to receive a call from the spa itself telling me I was late and that my treatment time would be cut short. I explained that we had arrived early, but had been kept downstairs due to conflicting information. I spoke with both the front staff and the spa manager, who agreed to investigate and even asked me privately to point out the staff member who had given the incorrect instructions.
In the end, my guest went ahead and enjoyed his treatment, but I declined mine. I wasnât charged for the service since I did not receive it, but the experience was still a disappointment and a waste of the time I had set aside to relax.
Whatâs most frustrating is that nothing was offered for the inconvenience, no goodwill gesture, no voucher to return, despite the fact that this could have been easily avoided. I came in excited to relax, but left feeling frustrated and unheard.
I truly hope management takes this as an opportunity to review their communication process between the hotel, front desk, and spa. Itâs a beautiful location with potential for great experiences, but in my case, the handling left much to be desired.
I do like to add that the spa is very clean and...
Read moreFor a high end spa I was very disappointed. The women at the front desk I spoke to gave me the wrong information in regarding Miami Spa Month packages. I found a deal for an 80 minute massage for $200. And I wanted to get a facial so she told me she had a different package for $135 for a 50 minute facial and a 50 minute massage. She didnât tell me that they were two different service charges and was very convincing over the phone. Mind you my spa experience was awful. The massage was like a soft rub down and both masseuse and facialist talked my ear off. I was not relaxed one bit. I found better deals online at the Standard or the W hotel and it wasnât till I was checking out that my total was $337.50. I went with my twin sister for our birthday and they charged her $380. We both walked out spending $800 together while we could of went to a different hotel that had amazing rates during the months spa packages. Iâm really upset. The woman at the front desk was laughing in my face and was super rude. I will never go to this place again. It was horrible...
Read moreI love 1 Hotel, and I booked a treatment at the spa for my birthday.
Pros: The massage was great! I really enjoyed it.
Cons: Facilities. It's the smallest spa I've ever been to in Miami Beach. They have no amenities whatsoever. The only amenity is the sofa where you wait for your treatment along with five other people. That's it. No garden, no poolânothing. There was a small steam room in the bathroom, but it only emitted cold steam.
So, if you're a hotel guest and have access to all the amenities, then it would work for you. However, don't book the spa if you're not staying at the hotel; it won't be a good experience.
Now, the most shocking moment: The showers only had cold water! I asked the manager why this was the case, and she said it happens sometimes and there was nothing that could be done; you just need to wait for the water to eventually warm up. I got so cold after the massage, took a cold shower, and ran outside to warm up...
