I am not normally one for leaving reviews but in this case felt it was necessary.
We had a very disappointing experience at STK Miami and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values quality food and good service.
We arrived and were greeted by friendly front-of-house staff, which initially seemed promising. Our first waiter was also pleasant and friendly. However, the decor was dated and tacky, and the loud, equally tacky music made it hard to enjoy the atmosphere.
We ordered drinks—a glass of Coke, which was flat. We returned it and received another flat Coke. I also ordered a glass of red wine, which tasted cheap despite costing $18.
The complimentary bread was artificial-tasting and far from fresh, so we didn’t eat it. For starters, we ordered the tuna tartare, which was passable but unremarkable. For our mains, we had a New York strip and a fillet.
The New York strip was severely disappointing: over-seasoned to the point of being almost inedible, cold, and incredibly tough and sinewy. While the fillet was okay, it wasn’t memorable. We also ordered parmesan truffle fries, which were over-seasoned and sickly. We sent those back almost untouched.
When we tried to give feedback, the waitress who cleared our plates simply took them without listening. Despite leaving nearly a third of the New York strip and most of the fries, the staff claimed we had eaten everything.
Eventually, after a long wait, we spoke with the manager. Unfortunately, he was dismissive, arrogant, and unwilling to listen. He repeatedly insisted that we had finished our food and seemed more interested in defending the restaurant’s reputation than addressing our concerns. After much back and forth, he reluctantly offered a 10% discount, which barely covered the fries. The manager did mention us returning at happy hour for some further discount or perhaps something complimentary but as you can imagine we were in absolutely no rush to take him up on an offer to return.
We paid the bill in full and left, feeling frustrated, disappointed and somewhat insulted. STK may have a strong brand name, but in our experience, the Miami Beach branch relies solely on that rather than offering quality food or good service, we can’t speak for other branches as this is the first (and probably last) time we’ve been. For the price, the food was subpar, and the overall experience was unacceptable. We wouldn’t return and cannot...
Read more6/17/24 First time at this location, but I came to celebrate my birthday and Pierre took great care of us. Delicious food, we will be back!
EDIT as of 9/28/24
Last night was my second time dining at this location and my experiences were night and day. Very disappointed in the inconsistent service. I came for my birthday back in June and everything was excellent. We came for my mother’s birthday last night and am very disappointed in this establishment considering what we paid to dine.
The waiter was fine and very nice. But they were out of multiple things we ordered. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu which consists of 3 courses starting at $60. I ordered the Tuna Tartare app and was later informed that the kitchen had ran out. That was fine considering they offered to replace it with a Calamari.
The Calamari and Sliders were tasty and the cocktails were very good and strong. For entrees we both upgraded to Ribeyes. I had the Ribeye back in June and remembered it being a very thick and tender cut. I’m not sure if they’ve changed the cuts, or gave us different Ribeyes because we ordered off the Miami Spice menu, but the cuts they brought us were VERY thin and the meat was very chewy and tough. I was extremely disappointed considering how good the steak was on my prior visit.
Our sides were delicious we had the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. We had initially ordered the cream corn, but once again we were later informed that the kitchen had ran out.
People often describe STK as a club meets high end steakhouse which is an apt description (the good and the bad). The atmosphere is very fun and lively with the live DJ. The women’s bathroom was horrendous. Not only was it a mess, but when we went to use it the lights weren’t working and there were women in there using the flashlights on their phones to navigate the bathroom.
Finally, I understand that we were dining very late, but was nonetheless surprised when staff began rearranging furniture to close up and added chairs to our table while we were still sitting there dining.
Overall, I’m very disappointed with this experience and cannot see...
Read moreI recently had a highly disappointing experience at STK in Miami, Florida, and I must say it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The problems started right from the beginning when it took nearly two hours for our food to arrive after placing our order. This kind of wait time is completely unacceptable and left us feeling frustrated and hungry.
To make matters worse, when the food finally did arrive, it was cold. It was evident that the dishes had been sitting out for far too long before being served to us. This lack of attention to food temperature is simply unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber.
Furthermore, the service we received was abysmal. Our table was a large one, and while half of us received our food, the other half had to wait even longer. This inconsistency in food delivery was incredibly frustrating and showed a lack of organization and care on the part of the staff.
Throughout the entire meal, our drinks were never refilled. We had to repeatedly request refills, and even then, the staff seemed disinterested and unwilling to accommodate our basic needs as customers. This lack of attentiveness and poor customer service is inexcusable.
Adding insult to injury, we were charged a 20% gratuity, despite the fact that the service we received was far below par. If the staff couldn't handle a big table, they should have communicated that to us when we coordinated this dinner months in advance. It's disappointing to see such a lack of transparency and consideration.
While the food itself was okay, it was certainly not worth the exorbitant prices we were charged. The menu was overpriced, and the quality of the dishes did not match the price tag. Additionally, the ambiance felt outdated and stale, further contributing to our overall disappointment.
Based on this experience, I can confidently say that I will never be returning to STK. The combination of poor service, cold food, overpriced menu, and lack of communication regarding table limitations has left a lasting negative impression. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a pleasant...
