Neo Nails — Local services in Miami

My boyfriend and I had been talking about getting engaged several months prior and with a trip to Europe planned over the holidays and questions about my ring size quenched, I decided it wise to get my nails done ahead of the trip just in case. I selected this location because I do not frequently get my nails done and a friend recommended this spot. I let the nail technician know about the potential engagement so she would hopefully take special care to make sure they were done correctly.

I got the GelX and although they looked great when I walked out of the salon, the next day the polish on my thumb (on my left hand!) began to wrinkle and crack because it was cured improperly under the UV light. I live on Miami Beach and, because this was important to me, drove back to the salon to get it fixed before my trip. They did not remove the nail and replace it with a different nail, instead they filed the nail down, redid the polish and sent me on my way. I did not have an immediate problem with the fix, but not two days later the nail snapped because it had been filed down too thin. Unfortunately at this point I was already in Europe and going to the salon for a 3rd time was not an option.

My boyfriend (now fiancé) ended up proposing on the trip and I had to hide my thumb in all our engagement photos. I requested a full refund from the salon as a fair way to mitigate the situation. They rebutted by offering me a $15 refund or for me to come in and have them fix the nail (I paid $92 dollars for the service). I have reached out to them twice now to explain that a $15 refund does not adequately address the inconvenience and distress caused by this situation and it is already too late for them to fix the problem, the engagement happened.

I trusted this establishment to deliver a professional service, and unfortunately, this trust was not upheld. It is understandable that nails are a service done by humans and sometimes humans make mistakes, but it's important that an establishment is able to own up to their mistakes and remediate the concerns of their customers. Instead, they have stopped responding to my emails.

Please read the bad reviews from this place, many of which are from the last two months and also state concerns about customer service. If you are willing to risk this salon messing up your nails and are comfortable with a lack of accountability, this is the spot for you, otherwise I would recommend taking your business elsewhere.

My first experience was horrible, but the company tried to make it better. I came in and was very specific about what I want. I asked for a Gel overlay over my natural nails and French tip. Lady who did my nails told me I didn’t need an overlay I told her I did because natural nails chip she kept doing my nails didn’t do the overlay.the nails were done okay but soft. The pedicure was awful I don’t suggest coming here the first time a woman did my pedicure literally scrub for 2 seconds and was done, she put a little scrub on my legs and literally wipes it off no massage nothing; I asked for the spa pedicure she said she didn’t have time to do it, she should’ve said that before starting I would’ve gotten my feet done somewhere else. I tell the manager about my experience they recommended I come back the next day and get the spa pedicure I offered to pay the difference before I even received the service and I did. I come in the next day I tell the girl I want to just put hard gel or something over my nails because they’re soft already, I told her I asked the original girl to put an over lay and she told me the original girl who did my nails doesn’t know how to do that. I tell her I’ll pay the difference to get the overlay and I was told I’ll have to pay for the service all over again. I told them I’ll just pay someone else to do it. I will say other people in the nail salon were getting their nails done and it was nice, mine were okay, the pedicure on the second day was done correctly but the nail situation bothered me because I asked originally there should t have been confusion, if she couldn’t do that she should’ve said that and it doesn’t make sense for me to pay again.

The manager was able to speak with me and assist. I was able to get hard gel and the second pedicure was amazing, I paid the difference to get a Spa pedicure.

Update: I just want to say once I got my nails fixed I felt amazing, I had a different nail Tech Mailadi and I can’t wait to go back to her. She made me feel comfortable and like family! I think I just had the wrong tech the first time around and I’m happy I came back the next day and gave it a second chance; I love my nails they’re perfect how I want them and I’m a perfectionist. I can't recommend Neo Nails enough. Our nails look fabulous, and the memories we made will last a lifetime. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
