Upscale Resale Furnishings — Local services in Mifflin Township

I had heard very positive things about Upscale Resale and decided to try it. I had two teacup/saucer wall display holders, a candlestick lamp and two sets of table lamps. The lamps were all in excellent condition. I called the store, spoke to a very nice woman by the name of Sandy and she explained the process and told me she would also email this information to me so I understood how the consignment worked. I received the email from Sandy within 30 minutes. I made an appointment (as they recommended) and took the merchandise in on March 7, 2023. It was not Sandy working at the store that day, but another woman and she told me that they desperately needed lamps. She priced them, I signed the consignment agreement, and she told me the items would be displayed on their website “the next day”, I was told that part of their percentage includes displaying the items on their website. I waited two weeks (looking at the website every day), the lamps were never displayed, so I sent an email and heard back from the woman I met in the shop she responded with, “We don’t display everything on the website”, which I found odd because I had an original email that said they did and she told me they did. Long story short, after 90 days you have the option of either picking up the merchandise (if it hasn’t sold) or just leaving it. It’s been over 90 days and I have heard nothing and I’m not going to go back and load everything back up in my car again. I’m not so concerned that it didn’t sell, which is very surprising (considering the lamps were in excellent condition and I was told they needed lamps ), I’m more upset that they made a commitment to list it on the website and they never showed the products and there was absolutely no communication. So I really don’t know if they sold or if they didn’t sell. Going forward I will do what I’ve always done in the past and take what I have to the Goodwill. I will not use Upscale Resale again.
