Update: the manager, Jeremy, helped fix my phone and resolve the issue. He replaced the battery and port, having to next day ship the parts to get it fixed promptly. I'm glad that they did cover a problem that I think they could've hidden behind a policy on, but they did me a solid by getting me in shape free of charge under warranty, and I appreciate it. I would happily go back to them.
Original review:
I'm still hoping for resolution, because I was certain that this is something that they would honor, but I guess I should've expected there would be resistance. I will update here any new information.
I got my screen repaired here on Thursday. They did it very quickly and the young man who was working at the time was very polite and helpful. I was happy to have a working phone again. Until Sunday, when I got water on my phone and it stopped working. On closer inspection, the rear of the phone looks like it wasn't put back together properly. No problem, they have a warranty on their work. I'm cynical enough to expect a company will try to weasel their way any way they can, but I had a good enough experience that I was optimistic. Certainly they have more resources than I do to fix the issue.
I went up today and it was a different gentleman, who quickly told me that they don't warrant water damage. I was surprised and disappointed immediately. I explained that this was an IPX68 water resistant phone, I've literally been swimming with it many times before. The exposure on Sunday was far less than it'd experienced before. It wasn't a jet, it wasn't immersed. No reason that it shouldn't have remained watertight. He told me there's no such thing as a waterproof phone. Fair enough, and I understand the skepticism. I can understand the temptation to treat every one of your customers as a liar and only cover what you can be sure is yours, but it's very little comfort to me, and I don't think it's good customer service. You can see in the photo that there are gaps at either end of the back plate, likely where the...
Read moreWARNING they will break your phone. I cracked my iphone screen but was able to continue to use it with no problems for over a month before I took it AT&T and they recommended CPR for repair. I was charged $100 for a replacement screen and it took 60 minutes. When I picked up the phone they told me everything was fine, I paid and I left only to find in the parking lot that the phone was stuck in a reboot cycle. I returned to the store and the techs told me it was like that when I dropped it off- which I knew was a lie, and I knew THEY knew it was a lie because I saw a paper checklist they completed to make sure the phone was operating properly before making repairs. I pointed out the obvious- if the phone was broken, why would I ask for the screen to be fixed and why would they do it? They said it might be because my phone was incompatible with the replacement screen so they put the old broken screen back on but it stayed in the reboot cycle. Finally they said it couldn’t be fixed and refunded the $100 but I still had to continue to make payments on phone that wasn’t paid off AND buy a replacement phone. Had I known this would happen I would have just dealt with the cracked screen and been content to have an operational phone. To top it all off the employees were unprofessional at one point telling me that their co-worker was “on the toilet for a long time”. Oh- and reporting the incident to their customer service department didn’t even elicit a response from them so I just lost...
Read moreI had my ps4 hdmi port worked on here. They did great.... Or so I thought. The price to get my it fixed was about 70 dollars. The first few days with it back it was great, just like I unboxed it and it felt brand new. Then a few days later while I was plugging an eather net cord in the back of my consol I barely even tapped the hdmi cord and the screen flickered. I was pretty up set that it would do this. About a week later it would start acting funny when I tried watching blu Ray movies on the consol. This was also pretty disappointing but it still had good picture. So today I try to go boot up the system and no picture. I tried 3 different hdmi cables and still mo picture. I just want to put out there that paying 70 dollars for nothing when ur only 15 is disapointing. This is true because now I going to have to do this again and possibly go through the same process or I may even have to buy a new consol. I would never go here again. I would not recommend a friend and I would just like to add the gentleman who was working when I was here both times were very rude. They accused me of being to rough and un- ...
