I have shopped at many different Marshalls and TJMax stores in SJ for more than 20 years and did not have any problems until coming to this store. This review is particular about the 2 cashier stations near the entrance door access to the mall. Few months ago, I found a Zara necklace in the clearance area for a little over $2 (red tag). When the Filipino cashier saw the price she did not want to process it. She said "This is not correct. It can't be this price." I said "This is the price you guy put on. Why is there a problem?" She still refused to scan it. She wanted to charge me the price on the original tag which was in Euro. I told her that was the Euro dollars, not US dollars. She then called the manager. Lucky me, the manager was right there. She told the cashier that the price was correct because she marked it down in the morning. The cashier has no choice to sell it to me. Today, 10/19/2023, at 17:46:41, the same problem happened. I spent almost 5 hours in the store and found a pair of Zara shoes for $16.99 (item number 110635208). Upon paying, the cashier (Mexican lady, long, wavy, blond hair, cashier station 2, 9938) did not want to scan the shoes. I asked "What is the problem?" She said "oh, nothing, we just want to make sure." She then called another young cashier near by to check. The girl used a little device like a phone to scan the price tag and it matched with the brand but they still did not want to sell it to me. The girl that scanned the item just whispered something with another girl in the back about the shoes. Meanwhile, another Asian cashier stopped by. She checked the shoes and confirmed the posted price was correct for that brand but the Mexican cashier still did not want to process it. Later, the girl that scanned the price picked up the phone and called the manager. The manager came, looked at the shoes and confirmed the posted price was correct. I was so mad with these cashiers. Instead of honoring the posted price, they gave me such a hard time even they have already checked the price on their device. I was standing there and other people stared at me as if I was cheating the price. If the manager of this store reads this review, please re-train your staff again for a better the...
Read moreThis is a great store especially for apparel, footwear, home decor, and fitness equipment. I've been here a few times for clothes shopping, mainly for formal wear and active-wear. I bought from them black formal pants (and shoes) that fit perfectly, which is rare for other stores. I had also loved their knee-length and full-sleeve knit cardigans that I was unable to find at Sears/Burlington, so I bought two in black and navy. Thwy also had a great collection of sleeveless and cold-shoulder tops, so I bought some of those too. Their yoga tank tops, yoga pants, and extra-support sports inner wear are working out great for my power yoga practice. Again some of the yoga wear I found at other stores wasn't working out right for me either due to poor fit/comfort or inadequate coverage/support which become important for the more intense yoga workouts. I also like that they are a bit tucked away from the more heavy traffic areas (restaurants and movie theatre) of The Great Mall of Milpitas, so there's less crowd and ample parking especially during week days. And the store entrance can be directly accessed from the parking lot without maneuvering inside the Mall. Additionally, there is a shorter/easier access to this parking lot from Montague Expwy that circumvents the Mall loop. The Burlington next door seemed to have a larger and more eclectic collection of clearance apparel, so it's worth coupling my visit to both stores for high-to-mid range shopping at one and for discount deals at the other, on a single trip...
Read moreI love this store but lately I’ve been having some problems with the cashiers, don’t get me wrong I’m a pretty reasonable and nice person and the instances I’ll be talking about shortly did not end up in a fight but their behavior has been bothering me. It’s probably the third time in a row that their cashiers(Asian women all 3 times) show the nail spa behavior meaning they are nice until you tell them that you won’t be signing up for the rewards card, I think they get some kind of commission when someone signs up but you shouldn’t bully anyone into it especially when they already have a rewards card, why would I apply for another one? All three times especially the last two time the cashiers got extremely rude after I nicely told them that I don’t want to apply for a card. If this behavior continues I’d have to stop buying from marshals at great...
