We’re first time home buyers moving to Minnesota from out of state. Matt was very patient as we figured out neighborhoods we liked and a price range we were comfortable with, but acted quickly when our dream house hit the market. The house we bought was only on the market for two days and had 4 offers; we only got it because Matt was able to tour it ASAP and communicate our interest directly to the selling agent. He gave great advice on how to put together a competitive offer, and we never felt pressure from him to be more aggressive than we were comfortable with, despite the competitive situation. Due to COVID, we weren't able to fly to Minneapolis to see houses and worked with Matt remotely. He was willing to be creative with taking videos of properties or doing video calls, and was also happy to have family members tour with him on our behalf. We appreciate Matt making it possible for us to buy a house during these strange times. We went with Matt based on the recommendation of friends, who told us he was great at "telling you everything that's wrong with a house." Having worked with realtors in the past who ignored obvious flaws just to try and sell a house, we appreciated his candor and his ability to pick apart houses. Matt would notice anything off -- old chimneys, funky floor plans, old windows, etc. -- and make sure we were aware of the issues before making a bid. When we finally found a house we loved, we trusted he was telling us the truth about its pros and cons, since he'd been so candid with previous houses.
